Did I mention that my friend Pedro is a gay homosexual fag that likes buttsex? No.... Well he does.... It's his main thing... Love you Smokes!1!1 And your gay ass woodchuck. Oh and Fuck you U Tube bitch as twat cunt Cant Understand Normal Thinking Ma Fah Kah I post what I want....... untill of course you pull me down anarchi as a post template test/// ANARCHY?????
They went halfway. I'd love to hear a full synth version of this song--no guitars. Actually, I'd like to hear Gary Numan cover this song. Someone get word to him ...
thanks for sharing, i love this song. I had a bootleg tape of the church live in germany early 90's and they played this, it was awesome then!! One of the greatest bands ever, so underated.
@looshkin66 I like Built To Spill's version better because the guitars are better, and Doug's vocals are closer to Neil's. Their version is super long and great :) But I love this version too. I have a bunch of other people doing this cover too on a couple of Neil Young Tribute albums, and they're all great ! :)
@bottomteeth You probably insinuate that they suck. It's your loss if you form your opinion on this group based on one of their worst songs (yet which is still fairly decent imo). And a cover song at that, which The Church don't really do too often, but doubtless you also now think them a cover band.
If I were to venture a real reason as to why you haven't heard of them before, it's probably that you're not Australian.
To me this song is different from, but exactly as good as, the original.
@glyph68 That sounds about right. Also, Steve Kilbey, Marty Willson-Piper, and Peter Koppes have all launched numerous solo endeavors, all with slightly different sounds. Steve Kilbey's sound the best imo (the most 'Church-like'), but the others are still well above tolerable.

I'm almost brave enough to say you can't screw up this song.
My favorite cover so far is with Grace Potter.
And I really didn't care for Neals original version as much as some of the covers.

Grace's cover was a disgrace, she doesnt even know the damn lyrics!

Whispering with a gay, faux English falseto, the best the neuvo Balmain boy on Methadone could do,
Fading lines fading rhymes, psuedo everything. He even invented his own artistic suffering

This is pretty incredible. They like how they eschewed trying to imitate Young's guitar style and just went for all-out noise.

@brennan1026 The BTS cover is sooo good! I got my mom into BTS by playing her that song-- she's a huge Neil Young fan.

Just an excellent excellent version. The Church. If you've not delved into 'em. Do so. I'd say they're around the 30 album mark.
This... is headphone music.
