Gt is a v8 package 281 ci or better...they did make a few in the 80s that had the 300 straight 6 that came in the f150 4x4 but that was the tail end of the mustang 2 era...you can order 4 engines for the base gt w/o shelby or roush packages the 281 side oiler (4.6) no longer produced as of 2011 the 302 5.0 the 350 r tuned 5.0 and the stage 3 350Sr also ava. In the roush and saleen. Thats fords biggest production sports car motor....

@thunderbirdlver No they do not unless you are running slicks or drag radials. Saw a bone stock 2011 GT run the 1/4 with an ET of 13.6. They spin too damn much to run a 12 unless you have some pretty good drag radials or slicks wrapped around the rims. However, on a great set of drs or slicks you can see high 12s. But to correct your theory, a STOCK car = A car that has ZERO aftermarket parts whatsoever, including tires. Those slicks or DRs are not stock, therefore, 13s stock.
Guy who lives down the road from me that owns a 2011 5.0 He doesn't tend to know that much about cars yet, so I have no idea how "true" it is about the 2011. I dont mess with Fords, so I couldn't tell you 100% if it is or is not true. Anyhow, he says he loves the car and that it is fun to drive. Also, check this out. It is a Base GT with the 5.0

@thunderbirdlver I do know that back in 07 to 2010 Mustangs (I think up to 2010) the GTs came with the 99H engine, but could be swapped to a 5.0 These new Mustangs arent bad though. I am a Chevy / GM guy and even I like the new Stangs.

@thunderbirdlver No they do not unless you are running slicks or drag radials. Saw a bone stock 2011 GT run the 1/4 with an ET of 13.6. They spin too damn much to run a 12 unless you have some pretty good drag radials or slicks wrapped around the rims. However, on a great set of drs or slicks you can see high 12s. But to correct your theory, a STOCK car = A car that has ZERO aftermarket parts whatsoever, including tires. Those slicks or DRs are not stock, therefore, 13s stock.

@thunderbirdlver Allow me to correct my previous comment. Spinning you can see 13.6s with the 99H V6, but with the 5.0 V8, you can easily see high 12s even while spinning. Sorry for not pointing out the engine variance in certain times. When people hear "Mustang GT" they think all GTs have the V8. Not true. The GT comes in a base model and the 5.0 model.

Your so called 86 gn produced 235 hp and 330ftlbs that's and that's with intercooler so with drive train loss that about 210 maybe they are fast out the hole but after the house takes over done and the only top out at like 120. There fun cars
