It's a parasitic worm, it's not fake, it's called cordyceps, well it's 1/400 or more versions of cordyceps. This one version is like a mind controlling virus that makes the cricket go out in search of water, once inside water the parasite emerges out of the cricket and into the water so it can thrive and affect more crickets. This parasite isn't harmful to humans. Versions of cordyceps are used in medicine even. This cricket obviously didn't make it to water.

Gasshoppers are know to carry some heavy duty parasites thats why you have to remove the head and cook it if your gonna eat it. When you remove the head your also removing the stomach which cotains all the parasites This looks real, in my opinion.
