  • The guitar break is straight from Taylor Swift's 'Love Story'. Seriously. Listen.

  • I love this song. But it sounds like shit live. Sorry to say it.

  • I think that's maybe one of the best song of all times..my heart nearly explodes everytime.

  • Rab's guitar sound blows me away

  • Guise

  • Rabs

  • heartbreak I'm not holdin yer hand anymore.

  • i think their new drummer is dynamite!

  • One of the most important bands ever. Soon the whole world will sing the praise of Glasvegas, Kasabian, and The Courteeners.

  • @morrissey07 Hahahaha. As an apparent Morrissey fan I'm astounded by your naivete.

  • @whump123

How is that a naive statement?

If you're going to contradict me, you've got to back it up. Ass.

  • @morrissey07 Okay, well firstly I do like all of those bands. But to think that 'the whole world will sing the praise' of them is just absurd, especially in an age of pre teen pop sensations. Fair enough, Kasabian are massive in Britain but The Courteeners? They shot themselves in the foot with the first album, and all that hype they gave themselves. I don't think their second album even made the top five. I can't stop listening to Glasvegas atm but do you really think they can break America?

  • @whump123 poor whump, so naive. You don't have to break America in order for the whole world to sing your praise. May I quote Morrissey? Oh why not. "America is not the world". Ass.

  • @morrissey07 You do I'm afraid, otherwise how could the 'whole world' sing your praise? Haha I don't set much store by stereotypes but I'm clearly having a pointless YouTube discussion with a bovine American. I like how you ignored everything else I said as well. 'Ass' - lol so American. You'll be saying 'you're such a douchebag dude' next.

  • @whump123 Being American or being anything else has nothing to do with it. Bovine American? I'm Nicaraguan. Typical idiot. I don't care where you're from. You're just an idiot.

  • @morrissey07 Haha nice come back, shame about your redundant debating skills. Ass.

  • @whump123 Redundant debate skills? You had to resort to nationality to get your point across. That's low.

  • @morrissey07 Yeah, well desperate times call for desperate measures and I'd say that a vacuum of mental stimulation calls for desperate measures. Any reasons why those bands will soon be critically lauded throughout the globe? I don't think you've given me one yet.

  • cant wait to see them at V fest, amazing song, amazing band!

  • did'nt know jools had a stand comedian booked that nite

  • @hollowtin Me neither, maybe would have been better booking you though, cos you're just fucking hilarious !

  • massive forhead

  • @Davidls2 lol yeah..."five-head"...hehe

  • definitely one of my favourite bands, and from Scotland too! Go Alba!!!

  • Im Scottish its live, there are parts he sings that aint on the original.Check out Daddys gone on Jules Holland, epic.

  • I originally thought it was a mime (I have never seen the band before), certain parts seem odd but I put that down to maybe the electronic sound/echo of the voice. But, if you watch around 3.44 there is a dip in the voice volume which coincides precisely with a circular whisk of the mic. I doubt you could pull that off, I'm convinced it is a live performance. However, I will admit I know very little about singing live, only the time I drank 15 pints and belted out 'Love shack' at a Karaoke....

  • got a decent drummer!

  • Miming on jools holland ?

  • @pholty Miming?? You fucking kidding? You dont get that rawness from miming!

  • intense, honest, imperfect, love it!!

  • Seen glasvegas for the fifth time last week, took my 12 year old son along and they were brilliant.the new drummer, jonna, adds more to the band, and i thought rab has improved on lead guitar as well, all in all they are an excellent band who write about real and relevant issues, cant knock the vegas.i love the confidence james allan has got in his lyric, brilliant.as we

  • <3 loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • This was fantastic in Manchester! Jonna is a brilliant drummer, so energetic and happy!

  • Did they get a new female, standing drummer?

    Weird.

  • @canarycoalmine Yeah she's Swedish! Rab apparently requested that the record company get a Swedish female drummer and James felt embarrassed for him, but then they actually did end up getting a stand up, Swedish girl drummer because they chose her over all the others and so it stuck. The previous drummer, Caroline McKay, left shortly before they were to record the new album. I get the impression she struggled alot with stage fright and that her reasons for leaving were mostly to do with that.

  • I have one of her drumsticks! She's MENTAL!

  • mixture between u2(the music) and freddie mercury(his cloths) . . . . but will never be as tallented

  • Good performance from the band, the leads vocals were all over the show though :/ lady drummer ftw :D

  • i was at the glasgow show and one of the intruments broke in the encore and then he started to sing acapella from the top of his head :L and saying something about people that think they mime was funny :L

  • Jools wouldn't be laughing if he was a miming man. Jools doesn't need that crap in his life. So they're definetly not miming

  • wtf is this , u2?

  • The vocals aren't exactly as they are on the record? Idiots. Not even the exakt same tempo.

  • hmmmm......... being Glaswegian i really want to like them, but it sure looks like miming- when i watched the show i was pissed and put it down to vocal effects(2 leads on the mike) but now........... hmmmmm

  • @TheLexyboy I don't have the link for it but the show released a statement about all sorts of things that go over my head but it's just as you say - it's the mikes that caused them to look like they are miming at points. Jools Holland doesn't accept miming, it's all about the live music. Glasvegas don't mime either. I can get you the link if you like.

  • @BoredIslandGirl Please post the link!!! I've been having debates with people about this whole ridiculous miming thing on the glasvegas @ sunderland videos... and would like to set the record straight....

  • @winterjargon There is definitely some sort of keyboard track or hidden keyboardist they are playing to, but the rest is definitely live. I don't think bands ever lip sync on Jools Holland.

  • @canarycoalmine The bass player is playing and triggering samples on the floor, you can see the massive midi pedal board in a few shots.

  • @potatojunkie100 Yeah, saw them again in Newcastle the other night and they use various floor pedal boards that look and work similarly to organ pedals.

  • @potatojunkie100 It's a midi pedal that acts as a bass/synth. Rab had one in front of him in Manchester on tuesday - I was stood directly in front of him so got a good view! It's played live, not pre-recorded. Just like a keyboard you play with your foot.

  • @winterjargon Well now I'm buggered if I can find it but I know someone who knows the band who told me all about the link in the first place. I shall ask her and post it when I've got it.

  • Swedish drummer ha

  • Later is all about live music. They wouldn't get near the show if they even suggested miming.

  • doubt hes miming, its the effect on his vocals

  • amazing performance!!! GLASVEGAS RULES THE WORLD!!!

  • Also he is cool as fuck and an amazing frontman

  • I think its a brilliant performance and a quality album

  • I'm guessing the vocals are on a backing track. They're exactly the same as the record. The drummer will hear a click track in her in-ears and drum to that so the band stays in time with the track.

  • Feck the haters! I think they're a deadly band. Magnifico!

  • not good

  • Please Glasvegas, get your act together! Can't believe this is the band I bought a ticket for next month in Berlin.

  • Saw them on the "Live" jools holland 30mins show on tuesday night and they were diabolical. I watched the normal 1 hour show on friday night to see if they would show that dire performance. Well they showed the dire performance but NOT the sound to go with it...they obviously over dubbed a sound check version over the top of it...thats why James looks like he's miming. I love Glasvegas and am going to see them in 2 weeks time, but dear me I hope they improve massively from Tuesdays show

  • Miming. What a chump.

  • Increible!!! SOBERBIO!!! AMAZING!!! COJONUDO!!!!!!!

  • cant believe people are defending them and saying theres no miming :L fuckin idiots

  • I dont get the appeal, he sounds like a wounded seal.

  • Does the lead singer think he is a Manic Street Preacher circa 1990? White jeans? Check. White shirt? Check. Graffiti on said shirt? Check.

  • What!? NO SUN GLASSES James? :)

  • Interesting comments - i watched this last night and was gobsmacked - and not in a good way. I actually quite like the tune but he is such an arse. He has got bad case of bono envy. It is a TV studio for fucks sake - not wembley. I also thought he might be miming and I'm obviously not the only one. I thought that with the good reviews of the album i would give them a chance. But they are still shit.

  • All this stupid 'James is miming' conspiracy started in Sunderland the other week. Apparently mackems are so deprived of gigs that they don't recognise live music when the hear it. 1) They're playing the song at a slower speed than the album. 2) James vocal improv at 0.43 3) At 3.52 Believe it or not, mics can actually pick sound up even if the mic is positioned slightly further away from mouth. 4) People... the show is called 'LATER LIVE' .......

  • P.S Why would any performer torture themselves over the ridiculously difficult task of miming live to a heavily improvised live pre-recording of themselves when they could just play live to begin with????

  • Not the best performance but still a great band

  • Exploratory surgery is going to be needed; I don't think anyone's disappeared quite so far up their own arse before.

  • At what point, exactly, does it look like they're miming? I don't get it...

  • @deadpassive 3:52 is the most obvious one I guess.

  • Nothing wrong with this performance?

  • his mic didnt work so they put the sound check over it.

  • @scotlandsfree Were you there?

  • It sounds like they've put the performance from the sound checks they do over the video of the main performance. Perhaps something went wrong, or they were even worse for the proper one.

That would explain them not performing perfectly as it would only be a soundcheck where it needn't be perfect and why it looks like they mime (but not to the recorded version from the album).

  • Oh my god, what the feck is wrong with you people ? You lot have got the second album syndrome this is a slow burner, give it a chance will you.

  • Seen it on the tele from around the 2.40 mark, was like watching a car crash. Seemed like he forgot the words, was woefully out of tune, and all this to a U2 backing track dressed as Johnny Borrell singing into a curly homemade lightsaber, jayzus!

  • Anyone think this performance was a bit weak? James in particular.

Probably the worst I've seen of them play live, and they're one of my favourite bands
