the strange thing is is that this kind of teleportation results in the death of the "teleportee" and then the cloning of him in the other pod. so the original brundle never experienced turning into a fly. and brundlefly never experienced being brundlepod. just clones with the same memories.
it was a line from the 1958 The Fly which was the film The Fly 1986 is remade by and like Max22 said Mel Brooks suggested this line for Geena Davis to say
I remember watching this at my grandma`s house when I was 7. I remember the part when his face was falling apart and my uncle (who was 17) snuck up behind me and shook my chair. haha! so evil.
someone should tell these people if you are going to invent a teleportation device and try it out, please or Goodness sake, KEEP THE FLIES OUT.

I guess when he says "Please help me" it's a reference to the 50s The Fly?

I find it ironic that Cronenberg was planning to remake HIS own film, this one.

This movie was absolutely wonderful. Favorite scenes out of this were the Insect Politics scene and the scene where Veronica gets kidnapped.
I'm saying...I'll hurt you if you stay.

Perhaps one of the most scariest sci-fi horror film after Alien and The Thing.

So haunting when at the very end of the trailer Seth replies: "Help me. Please help me."

Sure is. It was Mel Brooks' idea -- he was the producer.
