  • I could swear at 1:17 that's Frank Bello from Anthrax

  • Dnload the audio from this clip at speedyconversion doht cohm.

  • Please don't get me wrong... I love the Pumpkins (this song is one of my favs) ... but is it just me, or does Billy Corgan look like a bowling pin?

    Just wondering.

  • Awesome, I wish I was cool enough to have known about the pumpkins when I was the age this concert was played :O

  • Stop putting so much emphasis on his looks and bald head and listen to the powerful lyrics and emotion in the song. I wonder what he was going through when he wrote this

  • love u billy untill the end of times

  • Oh wow the VHS is making the pitch go up and down! lol

  • no one can sing this song,, unless you gotta bald head and your initials are BC

  • i want to get me one of them vhs tapes

  • He's so incredible on acoustic versions of every song. This song makes me want to live back in the early 90s again.

  • o god tell me about it !!! take me back to the 90's. u rock billy the whole band rocks

  • awesome!

  • Favourite Song Of All times

  • Smashing Pumpkins=Sex

  • Sex = Smashing Pumpkins

  • Corection: Smashing Pumpkins = THE SEX!

  • one of my faves!

  • ridiculously great song!i love Sp and alice in chains and has anyone herd of the band live?? there sick!!

  • this is my favorite song live by the sp by far

  • its hard to choose but id have to agree. i also like tonight tonight

  • 1996-05-15

  • Nostalgic :_(

  • all the alternative bands of the 90s had acoustic ballads

  • he looks kinda weird bald

  • when was this?

  • hids voice is amazing it sound sso similar to the like not live version

  • beautiful. im a hardcore heavy metal fan but i still find this song and this band incredible

  • the same thing

i love death metal, deathcore and br00tal stuff

    but i fucking worship SP

  • Very nice name childrenofthegrave1.....the Black Sabbath song? The riff on that song is unreal.

  • yes!

the best sabbath song (for me) of one the best bands ever

  • i 3rd that! death metal over here, and this song is one of a kind.

  • i agree with the first of "childrenofthegrave1"'s comments....i love all hardcore but these guys are like the best...

  • Yes, they still play it. I actually have a video of it posted on here from their show in Philly. It was amazing--check it!

  • Yeah they played it at Leeds, it was fucking incredible.

  • amazing.. does anyone know if they still play this live today in the new band without James or D'arcy?

its amazing, definatly one of my favourite Smashing Pumpkins songs!

    absolutaly amazing

  • yes they do

    its on youtube somewhere

  • In the two Italian gigs Disarm and Zero weren't played.

  • Awesome, this was at Brixton Academy, May 96. If you look at that only shot of the crowd at 1.18 you'll see me! It looks like I'm wiping a tear out of my eye, but it was actually sweat. Honest!

  • nice, you have been immortalised by youtube. you also got to see the pumpkins at what was probably their live performance prime!

  • This was an amazing show, it was a late addition to the tour and they had no support act lined up, so they came out dressed in their pyjamas and did an hour long acoustic set, before going off to get changed and then rocking the fuck out for another 2 hours. Absolutely fantastic!

  • hey that's pretty cool, the televised version of the show only had 1979 and tonight tonight unplugged and PJed

  • Does anyone know why he plays the song a semitone deeper than in the Album version? It seems that he plays it that way when using the western guitar? (There`s another concert where he plays it that way - as well acoustic style) Has it something to do with it?

  • i'm probably wrong but i 'think' that on the mellon collie album they started playing with the guitars in Eb, possibly they played in E for siamese dream but since it's the melon collie tour all the guitars are tuned to Eb... i'm just guessing really

  • @mindbait yeah for the most part Siamese Dream is in Standard & Mellon Collie is in Eb there are exceptions (Porecelina, Jellybelly, Bodies etc.). Loads of bands do this mainly b/c its just easier playing a song a semitone down instead re-tuning every time & the show just flow better musically when all the songs are playing in the same tuning

  • amazing hot=]

  • this is great, they are seriously the best band in the history of the world, billy is amazing

  • this is my favorite pumpkins song, they are amazing...but the new version of the pumpkins (just corgan and chamberlin) are just not the same. It'd be like getting paul and ringo together and claiming to be the beatles.

  • you do realize that Corgan played every instrument on the Cd's right?

The others weren't allowed to contribute to the CD, only live performances.. one reason why they initially broke.

  • actually jimmy played drums, because that is the one instrument corgan can't play.. and buy the viephoria(spellcheck) dvd, they have the recording of simease dream where everyone is playing... but corgan does over dub them several times by himself. and they're recording of mellon collie on youtube with the whole band playing.

  • Fuck yeah. If he didn't the sp wouldn't have been what they are today.

  • more like gettin john and paul

  • Theyre still amazing, not the exact same, but they still have the same buzz. Im gonna go see them in february tho, i cant wait!

  • good job by sp awesome

  • what i choose is my chooiiiceeee

  • i remember people used to wear that ZERO shirt back in the day, mid 90s...

  • yeah i had one... i think it's still sitting in a drawer back home actually

  • Haha, I found one in the clearance section of a rock store for like five bucks, but it ended up too small. It may be the only one of those shirts that isn't faded. o.0

  • i don't know where it is, someone who was there posted the location on one of the other pumpkins videos i have up.

personally i taped it off tv back in 1997 or so it was a bit of a lucky find at the time i know nothing about the show except that it's (obviously) a mellon collie show prior to jimmy getting the boot

  • no shit was that in Aus? - i was up late taping the saaaame thing!

  • NZ but hey the tv channel was probably owned by the same company, i think it came off juice tv back when it went through a phase of being free-to-air

  • ..btw: where was this concert? or how did you taped it?..

  • BREAUTIFUL!! thanks

  • great song but the alternative version is better, especialy with james solo

  • Intresting peformance love the orginal song

  • Man, I really like these live vids from the Mellon Collie era.

  • yer cmon james nd darcy me love you

  • What a great song. This is the first SP song I ever heard and loved them right away. James and D'arcy please come back!

  • yeah, though actually watching this concert has really given me a bit more respect for jimmy chamberlain, doing his thing with the timpani here, doing some amazing stuff in 'thru the eyes of ruby' the guy is a legend (bit sad to think he was a dirty junkie at this point)

  • this one is really great, billy corgan is such a passionate singer, love the song thanks for posting this, yaiii first comment
