Stop putting so much emphasis on his looks and bald head and listen to the powerful lyrics and emotion in the song. I wonder what he was going through when he wrote this
Awesome, this was at Brixton Academy, May 96. If you look at that only shot of the crowd at 1.18 you'll see me! It looks like I'm wiping a tear out of my eye, but it was actually sweat. Honest!
This was an amazing show, it was a late addition to the tour and they had no support act lined up, so they came out dressed in their pyjamas and did an hour long acoustic set, before going off to get changed and then rocking the fuck out for another 2 hours. Absolutely fantastic!
Does anyone know why he plays the song a semitone deeper than in the Album version? It seems that he plays it that way when using the western guitar? (There`s another concert where he plays it that way - as well acoustic style) Has it something to do with it?
i'm probably wrong but i 'think' that on the mellon collie album they started playing with the guitars in Eb, possibly they played in E for siamese dream but since it's the melon collie tour all the guitars are tuned to Eb... i'm just guessing really
@mindbait yeah for the most part Siamese Dream is in Standard & Mellon Collie is in Eb there are exceptions (Porecelina, Jellybelly, Bodies etc.). Loads of bands do this mainly b/c its just easier playing a song a semitone down instead re-tuning every time & the show just flow better musically when all the songs are playing in the same tuning
this is my favorite pumpkins song, they are amazing...but the new version of the pumpkins (just corgan and chamberlin) are just not the same. It'd be like getting paul and ringo together and claiming to be the beatles.
actually jimmy played drums, because that is the one instrument corgan can't play.. and buy the viephoria(spellcheck) dvd, they have the recording of simease dream where everyone is playing... but corgan does over dub them several times by himself. and they're recording of mellon collie on youtube with the whole band playing.
Haha, I found one in the clearance section of a rock store for like five bucks, but it ended up too small. It may be the only one of those shirts that isn't faded. o.0
i don't know where it is, someone who was there posted the location on one of the other pumpkins videos i have up.
personally i taped it off tv back in 1997 or so it was a bit of a lucky find at the time i know nothing about the show except that it's (obviously) a mellon collie show prior to jimmy getting the boot
yeah, though actually watching this concert has really given me a bit more respect for jimmy chamberlain, doing his thing with the timpani here, doing some amazing stuff in 'thru the eyes of ruby' the guy is a legend (bit sad to think he was a dirty junkie at this point)
I could swear at 1:17 that's Frank Bello from Anthrax

Please don't get me wrong... I love the Pumpkins (this song is one of my favs) ... but is it just me, or does Billy Corgan look like a bowling pin?
Just wondering.

you do realize that Corgan played every instrument on the Cd's right?
The others weren't allowed to contribute to the CD, only live performances.. one reason why they initially broke.
