it means u have 2 wndows on the hard drive (the old one and the new installed one) so you need to boot into the cd and format the partition with the old windows on it
To get to the recovery console you need to put your OS disc in and press R on the options menu. From there you need to input the command "Format C:" (or D:) and then "Y" to carry through"
Ok. I understand what you were saying now. Well if you only want one on a computer it would make sense to delete one by reformatting the drive. So which XP do you want to keep? And then after that, you probably will have to go into your recovery console and format from there.
And to boot from your disc...When your computer is starting press either F2 or F12 to get into your BIOS...When your in your BIOS change your boot sequence so it boots from a "Onboard CD Drive/ USB" first.
