I don't know exactly, probably 12 or 13. For reference - he made his debut in Germany (Rokokotheater of Schwetzingen Palace) at age 11 in November 1981 with the Mozart K414 Concerto accompanied by the Karlsruhe Chamber Orchestra, so he had been in the public eye for some time.
@cvxmelody Actually he would have been 12 in November 1981. But he had given concerts at age 11 in Italy, and of course, much earlier in his native Greece (from age 7 onwards)
@RratsArtStudio this piece is meant to show virtuosity .... does "tocata" remind you anything? i cant listen to people who talk out of their asses! know your stuff man! and im sure you couldn't ply at 12 better than him
Yeah this is the only fast interpretation that middle section that I like from what I've heard. I generally prefer it kinda slow or I don't find it pretty.
i m so sick of all you jealous bastards who dare to comment on the playing of such an artist. Rubinstein said Sgouros is the best pianist he ever heard including himself , Rostropovich said that Sgouros is a miracle not able to be compared to any other he ever saw. And a banch of losers on youtube feel sorry for his "digital playing " . Get a life , enjoy a superb tallent when you see one and dont let your jealousy make you look like a fool.

Awful. Sounds like mashed potatoes. This piece is not meant to show virtuosity.

A piano machine, not very musical. This is the reason why he disappeared. It is a shame to see all this fantastic digital technique to go to waste.
Maybe one day he will return as a mature artist.
I am looking forward to this day.

If I had a quarter of this kid's talent, I would be a happy man.
