I think that Victor Pascow was hilarious and cute. And one of the funniest parts of the movie was when Rachel (if the mother's Rachel) said "Everything's gonna be alright." and then Victor said: "I don't think so" and his face after that:D
It made me laugh because at some point Zelda sounds kind-of like a drag queen. Why would louis bury his son and wife there if he saw the cat come back as an evil creature? I get the fact he wants them back, but the dead guy warned him, just like is neighbour. And why would his neighbour bury the cat there in the first place. So much no one with common sense would do. P. S. The only reason I have so much critics is probably because it scared the hell outta me. Secretly. :P
For Louis, according to the book, the Windingos (not sure of the spelling) can make them do things they don't want to. So, maybe they control him to bury his child and wife.
Anyone else notice the music to Amityville Horror? First 18 sec. One of my favorite films when I was a kid. This and Amityville. The 80s simply had the best horror movies out of any decade.
i saw this movie in 1990. there was an old lady living at the house, she saw it too.... big mistake. we shouldn't have let her see it. because for months after that, she kept saying Gage, for no reason, even when she was alone... i changed my address in '93, but she was still there. she died there in '97. the new tenants say they can hear her walking stick tapping in the hall at nights... their daughter saw her in the kitchen in a wedding dress with her back turned, looking out the window
@TheDingDongDo No, it all starts with the cat, his sone dies afterwards, so he decides to bring his sone back, but his son is possessed and kills everyone, so then the father blows up the house....
@lpslover88 Yep, it sure is. He's made quite a few cameo appearances in movies, not to mention his unforgettable performance as the ill fated lunkhead Jordy Verill in Creepshow.
They need to remake this film and do the book real justice.
But to be fair, there were some creepy unforgettable scenes in this movie, like Zelda *shudders* But IMO in the book there's nothing more scarier than the angelic little Gage Creed all bloodied up and demonic. Now that's disturbing.
actually, Cages dead was a proper experience he had, when his little child scaped from him in a road once...he admited that he was scared as hell, and finally, we saw his experience in this book....i think that this book is very sad, the first half of the book, you kinda get to know and love the characters, and then, bang! the orinco truck just makes all the book sad as hell....but still, is scary, not like the shining, but fuck! i kicked my moms cat once
It's not the Pet Sematary that raises the dead. It's the Indian burial ground way beyond in the woods that does it. The Pet Sematary is just the place where kids bury their pets. You gotta walk some ways before you get to the real thing. : - }
I love this book! It's well-presented and very scary! But the movie... *sigh* I wish I could say I like it, but some of the choices made in the production really left me scratching my head. And Ellie is an obnoxious brat in the movie. God, her voice makes me cringe!
this movie is bad. lol, its a little loyal to the book, but they did not include norma in the movie, missy didn't die in the book. and, they just seem like its rushing through the events
People are surprise that I have read every possible book of Stephen King and watch his book adaptions to movies. But have never seen this one. Do you guys recommend it?
I don't really know why I haven't. Maybe subconsciously I was saving the best for last?

Zelda was play by a man (really).

@NverEnoughDeathMetal I don't think there is any name for it. It is the theme song to Amityville Horror from 1979.

If someone buries a pet in the Pet Sematary it comes back to life normal? Or does it just turn people into undead?
hellscorpion2 2 years ago
The animals are undead too, just not to the degree that humans are. While humans are completely evil, it seems that animals just have a bad attitude.
