The main character is so bland. All he does is sleep and say "WOW". Where's the climax? What about character development? Dreams are the only reason he differs from anyone else. Hell, he could be Madotsuki, Jade, a Care Bear or a fucking Snorlax!

To put it simply, you are inevitably going to have problems with the Nostalgia Critic if you take every single thing he says about the films he reviews seriously. I actually like the animation in this film and I think it is a good kid's film but his review of it and other films I like (like Once Upon a Forest) are hilarious.

I had an issue of the comic book my uncle got me in the 80s the art was so bad and its obvious that they drew the speech bubbles before the words because they were cramped to fit the contortion of the bubble as if there was no fuckin room.

I seem to remember this movie better than the Critic did at first. I guess you could say this movie kinda got me hooked on anime at an early age.

BTW, TMS has also worked on such classics as Akira and Castle of Cagliostro ^_^.

To be far, there is a version of this where the opening music and credits match with Nemo riding on the bed. It fits really well and looks great. It also cuts a few of the more out of place moments. Sadly that cut didn't make it to dvd and just on vhs as far as I can tell.

I'm glad someone besides me remembers this. I actually really liked this as a kid. I was simple and enjoyed the craziness of it all. Though I did find it stupid that everything is given to a kid they just picked. My dream at least follow a murderisc logic.

in the Swedish VHS version (there is no DVD in Swedish) the intro song is nothing like that. The intro is played while the "camera" is flying trouh the clouds. :) But that don't make the movie any less suckie. haha
