Good point that you start by saying the alphabet ABCDEFG. Lots of teachers miss out this and go Every Good Boy Does Fine , without explaining that it IS the alphabet in order.
Also, starting in the bass, where A is the first note inside and G is the last note inside. The bass clef was the first one to be invented, it is the "basic" clef, and started at the bottom of a mans singing range. The treble was only invented much later to cover the range of a violin.
