You may ceep your monitor too dry. He has got problems in sloughing his tail correctly. My monitor has had this problem 1 year ago, but now it's all right.

@racheleduck Hey that happen to my savannah , but i think something might have fell on his tail while he got lost for a few days. In a few days the tail dried up and eventually just fell off. Just make sure you keep feeding your lizard a healthy diet and try to not streess him out too much . Everything is going to be alright :)

the minimum is an 8x4x4 for your Varanus exanthematicusand u should add some substrate savannah monitor love to dig burrows i have 3 savannahs and i have experiences with many other monitors you need to upgrade
