@revistheman That's only one of the many faction endings for New Vegas. In others the BoS fail to take Helios 1, in another they're destroyed, in another they terrorize the local populace for their advanced tech, in another they have an NCR truce, etc.

Helios One was originally under BoS control but the NCR advance into the Mojave (along with the ongoing NCR-BoS war) led to conflict. Ultimately, the NCR overwhelmed the Mojave BoS chapter which was then forced into hiding.

There was a Fallout 3 mod which did this. Technically it wasn't ash (As a true nuclear winter) but Operation Anchorage snow and ice, same effect though. Everything from texture replacement to new shaders/reflections for exterior objects. Looked very nice indeed.

There was another mod to the same effect but with grass and green trees as in 'It's been 200 years why hasn't nature reclaimed the ruins of civilisation' . Your loss if you bought on console.

Mods, not DLC. Same back to you. Mods as in modifications made using the GECK by anybody.

Google 'Fallout 3 Winter Mod', first result ('FOWE') it USES Anchorage textures.

The other is 'Greenworld'. You'll find that they're both uploaded to Fallout 3 Nexus, which is the most popular mod site for Fallout 3 (There are also Elder Scrolls Nexus and New Vegas Nexus, as well as Dragon Age)

Consoles have their advantages, but mods are a big reason why people buy bethsoft games on PC

@thebritish25 DLC is an abbreviation for Downloadable Content. PC mods for Fallout 3 and New Vegas are also DLC, whether or not you pay for them. DLC for Xbox also mod(ify) the game. So technically you're both right. So stop arguing, shut up and enjoy the music.
