This is really helpful. Well done. We need someone to do an unboxing or review of our new digital white balance/ color correction / exposure product - works with FCP, Premiere, Aperture, Las Vegas, Lightroom, video, in-camera custom WB, DSLR, etc. See us at digitalimageflow(dot)com - we will ship you a free one if you are interested...check the listing for new product (DKC-Pro) on our home page and contact us ..thanks!
Can you talk about flash photography? I have two sb900's. I need to take it to the next level of taking pictures because I have done modelling photography, but not satisfied with the results...
I'm gonna post a comment to the video; you're the second person to ask. For the most part, no. If it's not completely black or pure white you should be ok.
Hey Nate, got a question! When you use the PRE WB setting and you put the card in front of the lens, do you have to make it a balanced exposure? (Have it be a 0 on the exposure scale) Thanks!
Auto can mess up a lot. Using the presets at least will give you the best results. Or even better using the kelvin or manual white balance. Knowledge is the best piece of equipment in your camera bag.
@bridgeoverwater627 hi its farrukh here from pakistan i am watching your tutorials from couple a days and i really like them alot these are really informative and help fulll for new users (like me) PLEASE ALSO TELL US HOW TO TAKE GOOD PORTRATE PICTURES AND WHAT SETTING ARE REQUIRED ON D90 TO GET BETTER RESULT REGARDS
@bridgeoverwater627 thanks for your reply here in pakistan i dont have much opportunities to get better training well i am learning my self and this internet is relly helping me out and your tutorials :) sounds like i am learning , and friends like you transferring there knowledge to others is really appreciable
@TProTutorials Try B&H. They probably ship internationally. I'm not sure what it would cost in Pakistan's currency, but over here it's going for between $900 and $1000 for just the body.
So in what white balance you use to shoot the white paper in order to set the custom white balance? Cheers

@JimmyNZC Preset manual white balance mode.

I can, but it's not my area of expertise. I'm planning to do a flash tutorial once I get my SB-900.

googie109 2 years ago
nope, some people use gray instead of white, so it shouldn't matter unless it's way over or underexposed.
bridgeoverwater627 2 years ago
@googie109 Yes.

why don't you just use auto?? And great video, thank you

Well said! Auto is rarely spot-on, but for some instances, like bounce flash, it is the best option.
bridgeoverwater627 2 years ago
@geedunk13 auto most mainly for beginners.
