  • So in what white balance you use to shoot the white paper in order to set the custom white balance? Cheers

  • @JimmyNZC Preset manual white balance mode.

  • thank you!

  • thank you

  • Can you talk about flash photography? I have two sb900's. I need to take it to the next level of taking pictures because I have done modelling photography, but not satisfied with the results...

  • I can, but it's not my area of expertise. I'm planning to do a flash tutorial once I get my SB-900.

  • Does proper exposure (f stop and shutter speed) affect custom white balence?

  • I'm gonna post a comment to the video; you're the second person to ask. For the most part, no. If it's not completely black or pure white you should be ok.

  • Hey Nate, got a question! When you use the PRE WB setting and you put the card in front of the lens, do you have to make it a balanced exposure? (Have it be a 0 on the exposure scale) Thanks!

  • nope, some people use gray instead of white, so it shouldn't matter unless it's way over or underexposed.

  • @googie109 Yes.

  • why don't you just use auto?? And great video, thank you

  • Auto can mess up a lot. Using the presets at least will give you the best results. Or even better using the kelvin or manual white balance. Knowledge is the best piece of equipment in your camera bag.

  • Well said! Auto is rarely spot-on, but for some instances, like bounce flash, it is the best option.

  • @geedunk13 auto most mainly for beginners.

  • Thanks for making this tutorial Nate! This tutorial was very helpful!

  • Haha, no problem! I shot it the day you asked for it, but it took me forever to get it uploaded... sorry it took so long!

  • what kind of video camera do you have?

  • Nikon D90, see a full review on my channel!

  • @bridgeoverwater627 No I know that, im not retarded, I mean what camera do you use to make your reviews

  • Hahaha sorry for the mix up! it's a JVC GZ-HD7. Shoots full HD, but it's kinda limited in terms of manual controls.
