Please explain to me what happened to the homes and properties of about 900,000 Jews who fled the Arab countries? I know where they live now. Most live in Israel, in Sderot, Beersheba, Ashkelon and other places that Hamas sends rockets into. They got the oil by virtue it happens to be in the ground upon which they live. Accident of nature for when they first lived there oil had no other value than it oozed to the surface here and there.
Have you seen the source of most of Canada's oil. Oil Shale. Nasty stuff and the damage it is doing to Canada's wilderness is viewable from space.
If one wants to reduce the power of oil to cause mayhem on a global scale then we should be looking to alternatives. Solar might be a good start.
