Today was a windy fall day in Greater Boston. I was brushing my cat on my front deck when I heard a cry. I looked up into sky and saw a Red-tailed hawk soaring away from me toward the city. I've seen one take a rat, but it was the first time for me to hear one calling like that while in flight, just like in the nature documentaries! I don't remember them at all when I was a kid, but now they live all around the city. I love seeing them (we use to be infested with squirrels and pigeons!)
