@jerzeytpke just be glad you're in Jersey and not Oklahoma right now. After living in Tulsa for 5 years twisters scare me a lot more than tunnels or bridges.
OH MY GOD! I had a total FREAK OUT on this bridge! STOPPED COLD! Then yrs later a friend of mine told me HE had a FREAK OUT on this bridge and that they employ people to drive FREAKED OUT people like us over it. OMG
@jerzeytpke having driven on the Tap many times, I suspect people might just push you across the bridge. My thinking is if this Minnesota like thing drops, I'd rather go over it at 80 and lessen my time on it, just in case. And I try.
@vbdenny Well I tell ya for people like me its really shitty to not be able to use the proper routes. ALSO this bridge as you know was the famous scene in Saturday Night Fever. Ugh.........Im glad you arent one of the freaked out people like me that just cant do it. Yeah what did happened why did that bridge in Minn drop?
@jerzeytpke Since I was around Brooklyn when Saturday Night Fever came out I will tell you that it was the Verazano Narrows Bridge in the movie, not the Tap. I can't see how people freak out for a bridge. You should see them in the tunnels around Norfolk, ahhhhh! petrified people slow from 55 to 25 and have a whilte-knuckled, death grip on the wheel.
@vbdenny Yes it was Verazzano sorry for the mistake now as for tunnels. YUP Im one of THOSE PEOPLE but I white knuckle it and speed like hell! Normal people like you of course cant see why it happens hell people like ME dont know why it happens! Something just comes over us..........
@vbdenny Well I tell ya people like me omg our lives suck! WE dont even know what the hell overcomes us at these times! One time at the mall?? My son could NOT get me to go up the escalator and was making QUITE a SCENE over it. I was like a 2 yr old as ha he was ranking me towards it. (Nope I didnt get on it was too high) OH and FREAKOUT at the former Giants Stadium AND the SUBWAY in NY. Suffice it to say Im a prisoner of my mind LOL
when I was a teenager (33 years ago) a school friend invited me to his mum's house, this was here in England. His mum (Swiss I think) and dad (from USA) had divorced. I always wondered about the name of their bungalow (Tappan Zee) but never asked what it meant. I won't bore you with how I just accidentally stumbled on the name after 35 years, but it involved the actress Sophia Bush and a weather report!!
Oh a sing sing girl. My wife works in Tarrytown and drives over it everyday. They are considering making it 5 lanes inbound in the mornings. Glad you enjoyed this.
*yanking me *

Ahhh, you're making me homesick.
I can't tell you how many times I've driven over the Tap.
Looks the same. How's the Palisade Mall? I miss that
too. Thanks so much for the video.
I'm sure I'll watch it again. It was great!

What's that thing at the left at your window? A radio or some kind of E-ZPass electronic tolling system?

Very nice video. Zee means "sea" in Dutch, and I guess that's where it's name comes from. The Hudson is pretty wide there and may be named a zee/sea.
