The "Smart Dimming" on these isn't that smart- if you watch something where there is a complete fade to black, the LEDs often take a second or so to kick back in when the picture comes back on the next scene. I'm a little forgiving of this since it's a new technology, but hope there's a fix for it.
Overall picture quality is very good- I'd held off getting an LCD because of poor black levels.
i have a vizio, it cost less then samsung and sony for basically the same results......... i must say, it does the job without breaking the bank............ smart consumers would know that.........
I love the fact that they used Empire of the Sun's "We Are The People" in their commercial. But America's #1 HDTV company? Uh, every house I've been to either has a Samsung (including mine) or a Sony. I've never seen anyone rock a Vizio. I guess they must use Vizios in gas stations, supermarkets, Dennys, airports and bus terminals.
LOL!!!! so true...but i do have a vizio but had a sony two sony wega's and a westinhouse....but vizio's are so cheap there at hospitals...and airports like you said LOL...but when you hook one up to high definition cable...they can run with the best
Vizio tv's are just for people who are too damn cheap to get a Sony or a Samsung. They are cheap and SUCK!!!!!!!! But good commercial though and the song is "We Are the People" by Empire of the Sun
sony isnt that great of a tv brand either. vizio actually has better customer ratings than sony. samsung and toshiba are the way to go. LG isnt that bad either.
Funny when I go on Sony Samsung etc U C ppl saying they R crap also. Every1 has an opinon which tvs are crap. I'm a projector man in our circles u don't read stuff like this it's all love for any Projector u have ( for the most part) I want a Tv now I'm considering a
Vizio vf552xvt 55" Led LCD. All HDTV/ projectors break down, why can't we all just get along? Funny gamers do alot of fussing about things like this. I understand diff games/options, but all brands of HDTV do the same N crap out
Vizios are the more expensive tvs of all. Where do you get, people too cheap to get a sony or a samsung. Vizio is actually affiliated with Sony. Kinda like how Scion is affiliated with Toyota. As for Vizio quality, my family loves our 60" Vizio plasma screen TV. We have never had any problems with it.
Lol, moron. Vizio's are the cheapest (cost-wise) TV's available. Umm, no they're not. Why would a competitor affiliate with another competitor? Where are you getting this information?? LOL that pretty much explains your intelligence level... who the hell would be dumb enough to buy a PLASMA TV?? Well, have fun buying a new one when the gasses leak, and display incorrectly to the point where it's unwatchable. It can't be fixed by the way....
Actually they can be fixed. You can buy plasma refills for some plasma screens. They're usually around $100-$200, and save you from having to buy another tv.
I wasn't talking about the capability to replace the plasma, that's not really a fix. I was talking about the oh-so-common phosphor burn-ins and misfires. that destroys the TV for good.
Okay, explain this then if you're so sure that burn ins and misfires are so common with plasmas.
I left our plasma tv on for six days straight when connected to my ps3 (before dynamic backgrounds) and then turned it off and then back on and switched to something else, and there was absolutely no burn in whatsoever.
Actually it's not bullshit. I may even make a video and put it up on youtube. Also just because a manufacturer has a warning doesn't mean that it actually happens. Like there's a warning of leaving my PS3 on for too long, that it might ruin the machine or overheat. Well that's never happened, I've had mine since they first came out and absolutely no problems.
Sure a six day time-lapse video of your TV and PS3 (with a still background) on would be great. Don't forget to put a watch in the scene, so we can see 144 hours has passed.
'Look forward to the video.
I don't think you realise why they warn of things. they do these things called "lab tests," in which they test things extensively against their product to see what it can handle. The reason they warn not to do certain things is because it HAS happened and CAN and WILL happen again.
Many companies affiliate themselves with competitors, say if a company agrees to provide another company with some of their resources. The other company agrees to provide the other company with a share in their profits. It happens a lot more than you might think.
Companies don't get resources from other companies. Companies receive resources from trusted manufacturers, who share no allegiance or company loyalty, they're in it for profit. What you may be thinking of is when a company asks to use a patent owned by another company, they have to pay for it out of their own profits, if the patent holder agrees, that is. Not really.
Resources don't always refer to goods that a company buys from a manufacturer. They can also mean resources such as commercial time that a company purchased but has used yet. Or it could refer to a company (A) letting company (B) use one of it's factories to produce to Company (B)'s products. Which happens in the automotive industry quite a bit, although a lot of companies seeming to be separate companies can also be part of one big company. Such as GM having Pontiac and several others.
That's absurd, are you even thinking when you type? Why on earth would that ever happen? Have you ever worked in a factory?
That's called company acquirement. GM acquired many companies over time which were originally stand-alone companies themselves. Vizio is it's own company, no other company has authority and ownership of it, and Vizio has no authority, ownership, or control of any other company either.
You have a real twisted view of how business is conducted...
I want this TV but I'm gonna hold out for the new one that drops in January 2010. Hopefully bc the date keeps being pushed back. But if it's for the better of the product so be it gives me time to get the TV w/a Vizio BD player. :)

Sure!
Explanation: Bullshit.
All plasma TV manufacturers warn of leaving a still image on a plasma screen for longer than 60 seconds. After that point burn-in is *guaranteed*.
Nice try though, took you awhile to come up with the scenario.
