I need to get back to vlogging! But i agree with Nightmarekitty on this. Being "flexitarian" is what works for me. Maybe try the Pescatarian route, it may help you cut out some of the carbs and help you not crave them as much. Good luck!
wow! im about to try Zumba! i think adding fish back in to your diet is a great idea! watch out for the calorie dense foods like pb and stuff.. hope you do great! my goal date is july 23.. we can do this!!
Joy!!! I miss your smiling face! I once did a no meat week and lost like 4lbs! According to some book I'm a "flexitarian" lol Basically I eat meat once in a while maybe 3 times a week only for dinner. So maybe you can do that with the fish as an alternative. I definatly did eat more bread and PB too but if you do it for less time periods you can things of more things to eat :)
Try avoiding ALL foods with HFCS (high fructose corn syrup), corn syrup and added chemicals and see what happens. I noticed the Kraft food salad dressing in the last video and wondered what the ingredients were. And eat sprouted breads
Why don't you try counting your calories and just doing regular exercise. It's doable. I'm doing WW and have lost 34 pounds since Oct. 2010. I have the same goal which is to lose 20 pounds by July 1st. I'd love to join you. I'm not a vegetarian but I do eat more fish and seafood than meat. WW has helped me take off and keep off the weight. I also swim an hour and a half 4-5 times a week. So let's get started!
@frenchiedee i actually do workout 4-5 times a week. cardio and weights. and no, i don't /won't count calories/points. it makes me crazy/miserable/food obsessed/scale obsessed. when i was on weight watchers i did the core plan so i wouldn't have to count. it still took me over a year to lose 20 pounds.
Also - I tweeted you about this too - you were part of the inspiration behind my blackout days at home too. You had some older videos where you talked about having a blackout challenge certain days of the week. I started doing that too - cutting out tv and internet for a few days a week. I read more, clean more, stay more on top of other things I need to get done in general. Good luck on your next challenge for doing that for an entire month (at home)!
Although it was your doctor's challenge to you - I'd love to join you in it. Calorie wise I may do okay, but I eat way too much bread and too many processed foods. The bread alone really does make a difference for me. I can see a difference immediately when I cut back on it - especially with the belly fat.
@mgillespie12 me too! my big thing is i am trying to get my protein and end up eating high fat proteins like cheese and nuts, but i am still hungry, so i'm eating more breads and sweets than i used to when i ate meat.
yay, join the challenge with me. the most i've ever lost is 20 pounds in a year. this 3 months thing has me stressed.
you have plenty of time to get to that goal your dr. wants you at.... you can do this. eliminate the bread and peanut butter and nuts...add in fish.... veggies never made anyone gain weight, its the other stuff... avoid the processed foods... think of all the nasty chemicals that are in them.. you can do this if you want it bad enough. you have to ask yourself, how badly do I want it?
