  • why are you testing all the strings!? only one pedal does polyphonic so theres no point,

make one that does polyphonic tuning to custom tunings and i'll think about it, but for now, pitch black every time

  • i have the tc electronic and it is very temperamental, i play in drop A 7 string with my band and its a piss take

  • Does speed actually matter? you want accuracy and precision more than speed

  • @Cyanide5151 I like both - so yes, especially on stage I prefer a guitarist who tunes both correct and fast :)

  • Can the polytune tune your guitar in D? Or lower ?

  • @Lazzari89 Our website says: "If you are a guitarist that likes to play at a different pitch than standard, this is your go-to pedal, allowing for dropped tunings from E-flat all the way down to B. Whatever your pitch or tuning, PolyTune is a sure-fire way to be spot-on, with an accuracy of just plus/minus 1cent." Hope it helped. :)

  • I prefer the BOSS. It has a great Buffer, too!

  • hey!! let me ask you a question! Your answer would be really helpful! Do all 3 pedals have a mute function for when you switch these on ?? specially I am asking for Korg! I think that it is not nice to play live and the audience hear me tuning the strings :) thank you!!

  • @zeronoton - The Korg Pitchblack will be on mute one you activate it. The accuracy is great as well. Hope that helped. Cheers!

  • @cris06morbidkarma thank u very much! cheers!!

  • WOW awesome! i'm definitely gonna get the Korg Pitchblack!

  • I tried the Polycom and it's not so great. In multi string mode, it's not even worth using. In single string mode, it's not very accurate, no better than the Boss. For the cost of a Boss, get a Turbo Tuner strobe tuner. Best tuner in the world.

  • Boss everytime - by far the most accurate of the 3 and so what it doesn't do all the strings at once... it'll survive 10 times longer!

  • I own both the PitchBlack and PolyTune. The TC has a delay when switching between poly and single notes and a pitch discrepancy between the two tunings. When I strum the chord (not aggressively) it says I'm in tune, but when I check the individual strings, they're always slightly sharp... I'm still using the PitchBlack on my main pedalboard, but I will be getting the TT ST-200 soon. PolyTune is unbeatable for live/stage use, but you need accuracy in the studio.

  • gimmick! get the turbo tuner instead.

  • Polytone is the best!!

  • the TU-3 shows you exactly what pitch the note is as it rings out

the other two dont seem to be able to do that?

  • it might have been better to actually 'tune' the guitar, to show us the indicators, allowing us to decide which presentation we like better. what was the purpose here? what did you show us?

  • Can't decide between the pitchblack and the polytune. The pitchblack is all badass, tough, simple, steady, reliable. But the polytune's like "you know you want me" and all minimalistic and shit.

  • Comment removed

  • so does the pitch black have a silent tuning capability when on?

  • PITCHBLACK KING. Thasa gooooood thasa good.

  • So happy with my pitchblack

  • I own a polytune and recently i just updated it for the new firmware they sent me. Now it can support poly tuning in drop d and even in capo mode until 7th fret! Hoping that one day they'll gonna do drop Db, C, and B! Awesome tuner is awesome!

  • @lipoy89 I want it too!!!!

  • korg, poly, then boss is faster in that order

  • Does The Polytuner tune down to B Flat tuning?

  • tu3 doesnt do that in the other comparison videos, tcelectronic may be biased

  • what is that tu3 doing? it it even plugged in

  • i wonder how the polytune will look like when i strum all the strings on a 7 string guitar xD

  • which is best?

  • Interesting how the multi string shows low e being flat for a second or so. This is the same annoying thing TC claims is down to people touching the tuning peg yet their video does the same! I guess its just hard to resolve the note from amongst all the harmonics etc. Still pretty annoying. I don't really like my polytune tbh.

  • whci is the best?

  • @RisingEternity I got the polytune as my first tuner about two weeks ago and i have to say it's a fantastic one with many options. Mine can handle standard drop tunings down to B, standard raised tunings up to B and drop tunings depending on your standard tuning in polymode (which, by the way, works pretty good). I would suggest it to anyone.

  • @skipper375

cool! talked about this thing with friends and im going to buy it! ;)

  • Does the PolyTune have a mute function for when you switch it on?

  • @EvileOL Yes.

  • pitchblack got more prescision...

  • sold at 0:47 !

  • only until the end I got that it was a TC ad haha, well, I own the pitchblack and it's not bad at all but yeah, the TC is fantastic, only that I didn't have the money, or the necessity for that matter to replace my korg... but someday, someday

  • my first guitar teacher was able to do the same as the polytune!... he was insane too... XD

  • Polytune wins..

  • the korg pitchblack is the best imho. i had the tc poly but i didnt really like it that much. the pb is simple, definatley the easiest to read, and the smallest footprint when pedal board space is important. but the tc os okay as well. never used the tu-3 but i did the tu-2 not great at all.

  • Sometimes when perform, u just want to quickly check wether u r in tune or out during the break to the next song. One strum n that's it, don't have to check one by one and don't have to take so much time. And when there is a string that goes out of tune, u instantly know what string to tune in the chromatic mode. But I don't tune while strumming all strings because it is not that accurate, but really handy to quickly check if u r in tune or not. Before this, I hate pedal tuners and I use clip on

  • @fuzzfizz

"But I don't tune while strumming all strings because it is not that accurate"

+/- 1.0 cent accuracy is not accurate?

  • @dave1sfx I'm with him on this one. It is accurate yes, but the strobe mode is more accurate according to TC Electronics. I would use that method personally, strum them all and if one is out of tune tune it chromatically in strobe mode. Best method if you ask me. But don't get me wrong, both modes are accurate, but strobe is more accurate on the PolyTune.

  • @Botdra

Strobe/single-string mode is +/- 0.5 cents, while polyphonic is +/- 1.0 cents, so not too much of a difference.

  • @dave1sfx Actually it is. It is actually audible to the human ear. A trained ear yes, but still audible. And it's still a difference. Why not be in tune as much as possible right?

  • @Botdra

I still think the PT's ability to tune all strings simultaneously is still worth it. Just my $0.02.

  • @dave1sfx Exactly.

  • Nice demo. I just ordered the TC Polytune from AMS for $69 with free shipping.

  • Hi there!

I have the Polytune but I have a problem... I have the Boss FV500L Volume pedal that has the tuner out... Does the Polytune works with it? I´ve tried everything but it seems it doesn´t work... I´ve pluged the tuner out from the volume pedal to the input of the Polytune but it didn´t worked...

    Can you help? Thanks!

  • @zmaels I can't see why this shouldn't work - are you sure the 'tuner out' output is working properly?

  • @zmaels Your tuner should be the first pedal in the chain. You want the cleanest most untouched signal going into the tuner so you get an accurate result, and that means it needs to be first.

  • @zmaels Your tuner should be the first pedal in the chain. You want the cleanest most untouched signal going into the tuner so you get an accurate result, and that means it needs to be first.

  • pitchblack and polytune are pretty even until you do all of the strings. i own a polytune and i really like it!

  • pitchblack wins !

  • 0:39

"And now, all the strings at the same time...

    TU-2: Uhhh....e?

    PolyTune: =D

    Pitchblack: ...Fuck this shit."

    xD

  • @Botdra the boss is faster just because it is the first pedal int he chain..I see a lot of other videos where different tuner pedals were faster if putted the first...the turbotuner, for example, was incredibly faster in a video where it was putted first...and in another demo where it was after(2nd or 3rd in the effect chain) it was really a shit!

  • @tomakiakls Did you read the description? They are not in line with each other, there is a 3 way splitter cable so that all tuners receive the same signal SEPARATELY. I don't see how that relates to my comment either...

  • @Botdra HAHA I KNOW DOESNT MAKE SENSE AT ALL

  • I don't trust the polytune mode. It shows the low e slightly flat when it's not.

  • @ve2dc It's not as accurate as other modes. BUT keep in mind as a note rings out it goes flat.

  • Wow, the Boss is abysmal.

  • I like the Korg " Knight RIder " mode (KIT car simulation) hehe :) "Michael are you there?"

  • LOL!

  • What if I play whamola ?

  • @eldrickenji

    HAHA! LES!

  • If the Polytune worked with the Buzz Feiten system, I'd buy two of them!

  • I notice the Korg and TC are a lot quicker than the BOSS.

  • I'm also a bassist, and I can tune all the strings of my instrument simultaneously using the PolyTune. I find this a huge time-saver both before a gig and with between-song tuning: one strum of the open strings and I can tell instantly whether or not I'm in tune. And of course, the more strings on your bass, the more time you save!

  • Nice gimmick at the end there. Sorry, but I'm a Bassist and have no need for such a feature - I'll stick to my much-more-bright and stage visible Korg Pitchblack.

  • "And now all strings at the same time" XD
