Jerome le banner just refused to go down to the mat after that counter strike at 10:14 which caused him to take another 10 hits in the jaw knocking him out
@joncito77 You're right about that one! There wasn't much defense to match Sappy's offense. Too big. It's like a chimp fighting a gorilla!lol Have you noticed that Hoost likes to stand in there and take shot after shot from his opponents, apparently trying to wear them out? Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
@joncito77 You're right about that one! There wasn't much defense to match Sappy's offense. Too big. this isnt really interesting at all.the black dude obvisously gaurds his head and throws low thigh kicks alot, anybody that boxes would work them into a corner and make toast out of your guard which jerome does not have as a quality .im into dirty jujitsu and dirty judo where we break your "tools of oppression"and a little charle horse to your leg or a forearm to your throat will take the "killer" out of you.biggest turtle ive seen since street fighter 2 lol
@clearbreed Uhm, actually, most people who only do boxing and step into a kickboxing ring, get their legs destroyed. Boxing teaches a very very wrong stance for kickboxing where the lead leg is very vulnerable. Same for jiu jitsu. Plain suicide to take it into the ring.
People who haven't felt it yet think little of lowkicks, but just a few good ones takes away mobility and fighting spirit. Especially a powerhouse like Hoost will destroy someone with lowkicks if given the chance.
yeah but jujitsu throws low kicksw to the knees so i dont know what the fuck your talking aboutWHEN YOU BREAK SOMEONES SHOULDER OR DISLOCATE THERE ANKLE THEY AINT KICKING SHIT.if i worryed about all the people i have fought with throwing low kicks i wouldent be breathing today.the the low kick is like the dildo only girls like them.i told my friend that was taking on a 280 pound black man to kick low and he got knocked the fuck out.so what goes up must come down ping pong boy
@clearbreed We're clearly on a different wavelength here... Yours being the bragging keyboard warrior, mine being what could be effective in the ring.
@clearbreed you have never been in a fight with someone who knows what they are doing. a good low kick always breaks a person down. you can argue back if you want but im telling you for sure that you dont know what your talking about. you have never been in a real fight. i actually have three national sport juijistu titles to my credit and i was #2 in the world ranked by the BCI/ISJA in the superfight class. ( their version of the ufc ). it was smaller than the ufc but look them up.
The referee should have interrupted the fight much soonner after the counter at 10.14. Instead, he gave Hoost plenty of time and let him finnish Le Banner so that he had no chance to recover when the referee finally started to count him. Too bad for that GP final.
@2025ph That would've been a bit of an early 8 count. JLB was definately hit, but still fighting even though he was a little disoriented. Opinions differ, but most people seem to think that getting struck hard and carrying on the fight a little disoriented isn't worth an 8 count.
10:19 seemed the hit that did it for me. After that the ref should've stepped in.
well, if u punch or get a punch and u breath out but on this gscht sound it wil help to absorb the punch better and punch harder or else u will have alot of air in your lungs and its gonna hurt.. its really hard to explain, u rather go kickboxing and u know directky ;)
@illyrianjam Le Banner was punching air and hitting Hoost's block. Look how tiered he was at the end of the 1-st round. He got punished beautifully for his mistakes. Hoost was controlling the fight from the beginning. He knew how Le Baner fights, and he knew he wasn't going to last long with swinging a million blank punches.

Hoost took that boi to school in a major way! round 1 is a prime example of why they call him mr perfect. Hoost blocks or ducks about 120 punches lol all the while landing good leg kicks and punches of his own. Total ownage! Rape! Murder!

Ernest o Hoost weathered a STORM in that 1st round. I don't really know a lot about k-1 but I do know it takes a great fighter to pull off a win like that. Jerome Le Banner was throwing some monstrous shots in the 1st.

To be fasing an apponent like Hoost, Banner wasted waaay to much energy in the first round. Hoost is not the first to go down, and he is well balanced and explosive when he lets himself go. Great mach !
Peter Aerts basically laid out this gameplan for beating LeBanner. Since he's so powerful, you do NOT trade with him, but play defense until he gets tired, which he will because he's trying to take your head off the whole fight. Then, he's easy pickings, as Hoost showed.
Le Banner was so powerful and much more explosive those days.... two legends at their best. We'll never have fighters like these again, now they all search for the quickest ko...
@redeyedol ummm... not exactly. he was mostly absorbing big shots on his gloves or his arms in the 1st round and getting his timing down with his right cross. If you watch closely you can see that he repeatedly landed that technique on jerome throuought the fight and that eventually started the end for jerome. masterful performance by mr. pefect
at this level, one mistake and you pay the price... but one can see here the fighting spirit of le banner : he keeps on retaliating instead of protecting himself when about to collapse, and yet it takes many blows to knock him down...
yeah, maybe. The round before last, he was pounding on Hoost. Every time, Hoost would absorbe the punches on his arms. That round before last, he didn't do too much of anything. Le Banner was tired from that round, the next round Hoost brought the pain, and Banner wasn't alert enough to stem the tide. He sunk under a fusillade of head punches. *Damn*. Good job, Hoost.
@carbonlaminate more like Hoost timed the perfect counter right hand at the same time banner was low kicking, and hit banners chin which dazed him so he couldnt defend anymore, and then hoost moved in for the finish. its on the replay.
This was so sad... I feel quite bad for Jerome. He never won a K-1 and unfortunately never will. However I do feel it would have been fitting or at least deserving.
That's very foolish, Badr Hari has been in 2 GPs. Le Banner has been in 11 or 12 maybe more. Hari isn't close to retirement and still has a chance to win.
That is exactly it! I estimate we will see Banner for maybe one or two years more (I bet on one). He is at the end of his career and even though he is an excellent fighter and made through so many finals he just ends up being the runner-up. Badr is young and is likely to get the title. I don't think the 2 are comparable at this point. I will feel sorry for Badr when and if his time comes.
Badr is a better fighter then Le Banner ever was.Dont think we wil see Jerome back in WGP final ever again he's not realy in to it anymore. The only comparisment you can make is that they are both great fighters whit bad chins.I'm pretty sure Badr wil win the WGP final a couple of time.
@ENSABHANUR SHUT ur fucking cunt mouth plz...what a fking cunt u are thinking a bad fighter like badri will ever win something like a wgp,u cant compare badri with jerome, jerome is way more stronger and way more resistant.lol bad chin..my ass u fker, the only way badri could win against jerome is bringing his suicidebomb jacket
Banner was a damn moster here, throwing Hoost around like a ragdoll in the first round, but what a class act by Hoost, staying cool and ending it like an assasin.
I wish I was in the crowd IN the front @ 10:13 ! Crazy !

Banner was a damn moster here, throwing Hoost around like a ragdoll in the first round, but what a class act by Hoost, staying cool and ending it like an assasin.
