@tuffy3000 Well not really. Since the fact that Garry's Mod is a sandbox game, and depending if you have Counter Strike: Source or TF2 or Half-Life 2, it was appropriate to put it in there. There aren't any predefined aims or goals because you can do almost anything with props from those games. Since it was a physics sandbox, it was a good idea to sponsore the game.

Those weren't HIS games. Those were all indie titles. Gabe did an AWSOME favour to the indie community with this. At the same time nobody was forcing you to buy these games, you could just play them if you owned them to contribute to releasing Portal 2 early. Yet if you like indie games, you had the occasion to buy them all CHEAPER than you would normally pay if you'd get them separately. Everybody, gained on that deal. You have to ba a complete idiot to not see it.
