@noobhunter1217 The best course of action is to have a hearing with the city council. Round up plenty of supporters and make your case. Push for them to build a skate park, or open parks to skateboarding. But intentionally breaking the law is not the solution. Whether you like it or not, skateboarding does damage property. Whether it be intentional or accidental. But if you have enough support, the council has no choice but to listen to you.
@noobhunter1217 Yeah, that's always true, and sometimes life is just tough. Gotta make the most of what you have. I have crappy spots too, and I won't lie, I've skated on private property. One time, I got caught at a spot with a clear sign next to the steps reading, "NO SKATEBOARDING!" I admitted my arrogance to the property owner, and she was cool, because I did see the sign before I sessioned the spot. As long as you are nice and not full of reason, you can usually be forgiven.

@TheDailyChatter Damage to property is done when you put the wax down on the edges of steps and rails, because when they try to remove it, they end up having to sandblast and then patch the area. Dangerous to people because skateboards (unlike bikes) have no brakes. Im security, and im not against legit skaters who follow the rules, and save the tricks for places that allow it, but if you skate where you arent supposed to, don't act like a bitch when you get caught.

-running from security is one thing, but if you're over 18 and running from the cops, the consequences of getting caught can be really, really bad. Best thing to do is be passive, agreeable, and not let your mouth speak before thinking. I've been hassled by really aggressive buzzcut cops, and (sometimes) being articulate and "agreeable" can help defuse their 'roid rage.
-also leaves them with a better impression. Hopefully prevents 'em from being gnarly to the next skaters they bust.

Well, if they're trespassing on private property, then they have no room to talk. No ifs, ands, or buts. Now people might respond, "Asshole, you skate hater!" No, I skate every day for multiple hours. But if you are on private property, you are breaking the law. That's it, end of story. There is no defense. I know it sucks, but that's the law. No hate, really. Imagine being in the property owner's shoes. I wouldn't want skaters wrecking my property; I could even get sued if someone was hurt.

@noobhunter1217 The best course of action is to have a hearing with the city council. Round up plenty of supporters and make your case. Push for them to build a skate park, or open parks to skateboarding. But intentionally breaking the law is not the solution. Whether you like it or not, skateboarding does damage property. Whether it be intentional or accidental. But if you have enough support, the council has no choice but to listen to you.

@noobhunter1217 Yeah, that's always true, and sometimes life is just tough. Gotta make the most of what you have. I have crappy spots too, and I won't lie, I've skated on private property. One time, I got caught at a spot with a clear sign next to the steps reading, "NO SKATEBOARDING!" I admitted my arrogance to the property owner, and she was cool, because I did see the sign before I sessioned the spot. As long as you are nice and not full of reason, you can usually be forgiven.

@TheDailyChatter Damage to property is done when you put the wax down on the edges of steps and rails, because when they try to remove it, they end up having to sandblast and then patch the area. Dangerous to people because skateboards (unlike bikes) have no brakes. Im security, and im not against legit skaters who follow the rules, and save the tricks for places that allow it, but if you skate where you arent supposed to, don't act like a bitch when you get caught.
