The Gamecube remake of MGS is rubbish. Sniper Wolf's death scene on the original MGS is one of the most powerful and moving scenes in video gaming history. In this one the voice acting is wooden and devoid of any emotion. Music is crap too.
I think it's not that the voice acting is "bad" I think it's just that most of us are used to the original voice acting from the PSone version so in our heads that's what "good" is and it's just that we're used to the original voice actors rather than these ones. Also you have to admit that the original MGS is hard to find so it was nice that they made this for those who never got to play the original MGS.
But even like that, they didn't have any excuse to "assassinate" the majority of the original version's music. Like the Main theme song for Metal Gear Solid, for example. That should have been kept intact.
There is no "Encounter theme" in 'Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes'. Every place has its own theme music for Alert mode, Evasion mode and even Caution mode. 'The Best Is Yet To Come' is the only music re-used from the original 'Metal Gear Solid', but the rest of the music was killed and two of the original game's songs were re-mixed.

The only bad things about the remake was the voice acting was honestly worse. In this one the russian accent is done wrong.....like at the end, in the original she said "I could see war from outside, not from inside." Due to the fact the word THE isn't really IN russian. Also the verb to, and be are not there either......*sigh* but still the dramatic stuff like the back flip, the ps1 just didn't have the power to show off how good snake really was. Thats why its there.(in the remake)

You can blame Kojima, the director originally wanted the shots to be the same. Kojima instead rejected all the shots and made them into what you see today to be more original.
Kojima IS the director. and he realized his mistake after this because all the flashback bits you see in MGS4 don't use TTS footage, they use the original.

I havn't played the GC version yet, I have the orrigenal PS1 version. Honestly, I'm not much in a rush cause I really don't care for Snakes Spiderman like moves.

An artistic gamer can tell that this version sucks. In the ps1 version sniper wolf had a believable accent and her speech was a poetry. In twin snake the actings are unprofessional, the music is unemotional, and there are no pauses in the speeches. We know music is needed to create a powerful scene but having snake flip like a ninja is retarded. The only way to know if you like MGS is if you know that games ain't just about graphics and gameplay. Go study music and acting to create a good story!
Mr.Kojima was talking with Mr.Miyamoto to make a Metal Gear game, the best he can come up with is a remake, Silion Knights came into play and redid everything kojima told them how it was done, the voice actors are the same voice actors, only there older, the original game was made in 98-99, can't expect them to re-do it so damn good, yes original is good so is the remake adds more flavor.

jake5, Sniper Wolf was a trained sniper, but have you considered that maybe Sniper Wolf wasn't expecting that type of physical ability? In my opinion, it was unnecessary to show off this move, but Snipwer Wolf was surprised and in a state of shock by seeing such movement. She was so surprised that she missed one shot.

The only bad things about the remake was the voice acting was honestly worse. In this one the russian accent is done wrong.....like at the end, in the original she said "I could see war from outside, not from inside." Due to the fact the word THE isn't really IN russian. Also the verb to, and be are not there either......*sigh* but still the dramatic stuff like the back flip, the ps1 just didn't have the power to show off how good snake really was. Thats why its there.(in the remake)

You can blame Kojima, the director originally wanted the shots to be the same. Kojima instead rejected all the shots and made them into what you see today to be more original.

Sounds like they had to wake the voice actors up from a binge the day before and they clearly wanted to get them finished as soon as possible just to get back the the action.

It's far more difficult than that actually. Kurds are an ethnic group, a people, that do not have their own state. The kurds are living scattered in different coutnries like the ones mentioned above. They are oppressed by their governments since they want independence. That is their "misery".

Sniper Wolf was saved by Big Boss during the first Gulf War. Solid Snake, the one that kills Sniper Wolf in the video, is his clone/son.
During the first Gulf War, Saddam used bioligical weapons on the Kurdish people living in the North.She is refering to that, when she says,family killed,blind eye by world governments etc.
What is the relationship between wolfs and Kurds?
Snake says "So thats why they call you Wolf",after she reveals she's Kurdish.

David Hayter had to PAY the other voice actors to make them come back to just redo this. You notice Otacon's voice sucks twice as much and some words are different?....sucks...but still a great re-make!

And stupid too. Pointing the SOCOM pisto, at Baker's head, just because he forgot Meryl's Codec frequency? Wouldn't it be "Game Over" if he shot Baker's brain? Baker was the only one who knew about the "back of the CD case (pacakge) riddle". Killing him would only make the situation extremely difficult. In the original game, this was never necessary.

I liked the improved graphics a lot, and I like how the wolves circle around her..but yeah, the voice acting wasn't as good imo, and I don't like how lines were changed, especially the "I don't kill for sport, she was never my real target" in favor of "Even as an onlooker, I don't like to see women and children hurt" and of course the "love letter" line, which was bad-ass
TTS is okay, I guess, for what it is, but of course my heart will always lie with the 98 original

An artistic gamer can tell that this version sucks. In the ps1 version sniper wolf had a believable accent and her speech was a poetry. In twin snake the actings are unprofessional, the music is unemotional, and there are no pauses in the speeches. We know music is needed to create a powerful scene but having snake flip like a ninja is retarded. The only way to know if you like MGS is if you know that games ain't just about graphics and gameplay. Go study music and acting to create a good story!

Mr.Kojima was talking with Mr.Miyamoto to make a Metal Gear game, the best he can come up with is a remake, Silion Knights came into play and redid everything kojima told them how it was done, the voice actors are the same voice actors, only there older, the original game was made in 98-99, can't expect them to re-do it so damn good, yes original is good so is the remake adds more flavor.
