One of my best friends killed himself, and this was the song played at his funeral....seeing this video brought tears to my eyes...healthy tears of remembrance. Every time I hear this tune I automatically associate it with his life and death. Great performance my friend. Kudos.

I never knew Dion, having livedin WA all my life, however I have just recently met Alex, and he is an incredible person. How he managed to do this without breaking down is amazing.

I lost a friend when I was only 6 years old, shot dead by his father, we paid tribute at school to him by letting red baloons up into the air. I do remember this news story about Dion though, and I remember thinking how sad it was. He clearly had some amazing friends and I feel for all of you.

im very sorry to hear bout this i know whats its like i lots my cousin to murder when she was only 3 years old... its horrible when it happens but makes us stronger.. i dont know alex but im proud of him the courage he had to do this. R.I.P Dion

yes he was amazing, frustrating at times, a loveable rouge, everything he did was for fun, he loved life, Alex will go far with his singing career and I will support him all the way, for him to do this, you see the look on his face says it all.

Alex has a lot of strength to do this. I sang for my brother at his funeral, who we lost to suicide & I couldn't do anymore then half the song.. You, your family & Dion's friends are truly inspirational.

What a beautiful Cover for a beautiful young man. My best friend is now dating.. I believe she's your niece..? He showed me your page and it hurt. I didn't know Dion but I wish I could have. He seemed a very well mannered yet comical lad. I know you could receive a million condolences but it will take away your pain. Time will make it easier, just never forget... I'm not religious but I do believe there's an afterlife and I bet he looking upon you with so much love and pride.

just like to say mi respects for dion and his family i kno it is over a year ago now but ya, it was a sad day for the whole of whyalla, dion was a great lad even thoug i had hardly anything to do with him, i was a year behind him in skewl n can remember all of what was sed at teh funeral, things lyk this make you realise that life aint a game,

Dion and Alex met at primary school, way back in 1994, they were friends, grew up together, Dion was proud of Alex and liked the cover songs painted lady did. It was fitting that Alex sang at the funeral,it must have been difficult for Alex,to do that for him, and I am grateful for his obvious talent. Alex has been singing for Many years and he has a great future as a performer. Who knows he could easily become one of Australias Idols :) if he wished

Had it not been at a funeral, that performance would have got a standing ovation.

unfortuneatly that day the star was my son Dion, the funeral was huge, and still many couldn't attend this is why I had someone video the whole service. Going through the videos the other day I thought I should edit the special parts of the service and upload.

He sure is, I would like to see him do more solo work, he has a band her called Painted Lady, with other friends. this version was even more special because he was a good friend of my son Dion for many years.
