- Forza 3 is way to dark in lighting. Take a step outside, or watch a race on your television. Forza 3 is the cartoony looking game. Forza 4 and GT5 both have very realistic lighting.

Yep, some of the cars in Forza 3 seem to have interiors just so they can get away with saying they've all got interiors.
It's especially annoying if like me you drive without the hud from the cockpit. Because in a few cars, like the GT500 Nissan GTR, and the one in the video, the dashboard doesn't actually work.
I guess with hundreds of cars, the degree of quality is bound to vary... *shrugs*

Also, you GT fanboys can't really rag on Forza's cars having differing levels of quality (some are really bad I will admit as a Forza player), when 800 of the 1000 in GT5 will have low detail meshes and textures, and no interiors and most of them imported straight from GT4.
GT5 is going to be great, but don't rag on Forza. Keep in mind there's been 3 Forza games in the time between GT4 and GT5, and GT5 still isn't here yet.

The problem is Turn 10 deliberately deceived people with their marketing. They clearly stated that all cars would have full interiors and that nothing that was in Forza 2 would be left out of Forza 3, eg Public Custom Lobbies.
Polyphony Digital has been honest about what they are doing with the cars in GT5, and the reasoning for it.
And my car in real life is premium, It's not even in Forza.

Also, my car is in Forza, but not in GT. :) This is due to licensing issues (It's a Porsche 944 of which the interior is very nicely done).
Personally I play these games based on their driving physics and such, I've always been impressed with Forza, and friends who I've raced with on Forza say GT5 plays very well (Demo booth retail ver).
For years we have been under the impression that all of the cars (900-1000) would have cockpit views and be atleast the same level of quality as Prologue in GT5. Instead we find out only months ago that the large majority of GT5 will be a re-hashed GT4 in HD.
All the cars in Forza 3 (400-500) have interiors and most of them have adequate shifting animations. Whether your pissed off at Turn10 or not there is no way you can say Forza 3 was a disappointment and GT5 was not.

@MrLionking17 Yeah true, it's very bad looking, but on the other hand, I have never felt a reason to drive this car. On the other hand there are some truly stunning interiors, like the Ferrari FXX and Porsche 911 GT3. The only cars I can really use interior view on are Formula class cars (F1, GP2 etc) because I find the car's A pillars and such distracting. You aren't really connected to the virtual car so it all just gets in the way, so I use bumper cam.

@MrLionking17 turn 10 has always been more of an arcade than a racing simulator- and for that reason, foer entertainment purposes, turn 10 has always focused on what the players want. xbox live and playstation network's players are very different. I own both games and both have their flaws- and i would say that gt5( although i own every gran tourismo game ever to be released in North america) has more flaws than forza, but forza flaws are more obvious at times

@megamanacses i hope your not saying that after playing gran turismo 5. Cause when the driver shifts in GT5 he actually does move the stick, not just back and forth, but in the correct order, eg: 1st, 2nd...etc. Even with the paddle shifters, he actually moves them.
turn ten needs to play GT5, then they can see what shifting looks like. In the less detailed cars in GT5, the interior view is functional, he shifts, and turns wheel. Forza is a poor excuse of shifting.
Forza 3 is cool still want it, even though there is thing wrong, and by the way if you don't like being so close to the steering wheel then they made so you can ajust the seating position.
Who cares if it's a rushed game? It's better than nothing. By the time I've milked Forza 3, Gran Turismo 5 will be out. Would've been dumb trying to release similar (but still slightly different; racing vs driving simulator) games near the same time period. It's just like having Bayonetta and Dante's Inferno which were both released this January.
Also, I'm getting tired of PC racing sims. The only ones I enjoy are GTR2 and LFS -- unfortunately, they don't have 'noob' mode like Forza and GT.
I know, the interior view in Forza 3 is horrendous. Your so close to the steering wheel, it's annoying. And a lot of sound effects are half-assed and some car models are not very good. Even some of the stats for the cars when they are stock are not correct. For example, the 2010 Camaro in real life comes with 426 hp, in the game, it comes with 422
@MrLionking17 Agree. Gran Turismo has 1000 cars and only 200 will have cockpits. But at least they tell us instead of delievering us 400 cars with 50 great cockpits, 50 which are ok and 300 which are just crap.
The cockpit view could be a lot better: the guy seems like he doesn't even steer the wheel even when you're using a 900º steering wheel pad. Even in LFS that's better. The shifting animation is just a rushed patch, which have failed in many cars, but most of them you won't even notice there's something wrong.
Physics and fun compensate the mistakes. If Forza 4 comes out with this sort of mistakes, well I guess no one gonna buy it.

I take no notice of ratings, they are done mostly by websites that rely on advertising revenue from gaming companies.
The fact that none of the bugs/glicthes/ missing features from Forza 2, were mentioned in any of the reviews tells me that they are scared of saying anything bad in relation to a game made by Microsoft.

A lot of respected Forza players gave there feedback/reveiws to Turn 10. I don't know if the things can be fixed or not, If turn 10 would actually respond to people on their forum we might know.
People deserve to know all the facts about a game before buying it, not just the good things.

The online play is one of the worst things about Forza 3, unless you like being punted off the road by the new breed of so called racers that Turn 10 has attracted.
There are many threads about how bad online racing in in Forza 3 on the official Forza forums. Most are posted by respected members of what used to be the Forza community.
Having a unfinished and glitched game is not better than anything. Nobody should ever accept mediocrity.
The fact that you keep playing it means the next game Turn 10 release will probably be unfinished as well. Why would they ever bother finishing another game when there are plenty of people like you that will buy it anyway.
Do not take offence, but do remember that Forza 3 was released in 2 years. Gran Turismo is still in development after four years. And Forza has got NASCAR, a very clean menu, and physics to die for. I hear a LOT of people complaining about the (relatively) bad physics of Gran Turismo. That aside, I do appreciate GT5 for having night and weather racing and Rally racing. Forza only has tarmac rally.
As I said earlier, if Turn 10 needed more than 2 years to finish their game they should have taken more time and fixed all the bugs BEFORE it was released.
Imagine not having access to the internet, as many people don't, these people will never have a finished game no matter how many patches Turn 10 release.
I believe one of the reasons GT5 has taken so long is PD know that they are making another part of a franchise and if they want the franchise to continue strongly GT5 has to be so much better than previous incarnations of the game.

The gauges in real life are not your exact speed. The number speed is your exact speed whilst the guagespeed is what your car would be showing you in real life. TBH its really because they couldnt be bothered to fix them rather and just blame it on realism.

Your shitty ass old school TV IS MAKING IT LOOK BETTER. It basically adds free anti aliasing. That's why you can't read the ingame text on the leaderboards and such, unless you have an old bigscreen or an HDTV(I know, as I had an old school TV until I got a decent HDTV on Black Friday). Also, this game is X360 exclusive.
Also, interior or interiors? Because some of the interiors look great in this game, while others look as bad as this. You may have only driven cars with good, stable cockpits.
Substance over style. The only simulator better than Forza 3 in the console realm is Race Pro. Sure, PC racing sims may not look as visually godly as GT5p, but they're waaayyy better simulators.
Forza 3 never branded itself as a simulator either, it was marketed as a casual game to the casual market. It's catered more to people painting and selling cars than actually racing them.
And no one is compared the physics of Forza to PGR, they are talking about the graphics, it seems like the physics engine in Forza was the only thing that got finished prior to release.
Also if you use the default view settings instead of the multi screen POV glitch you cant see the shifter so you wouldn't know if they touch it or not.
Moving forward would hide the problem with the driver missing the stick, but then i wouldn't be able to see the mirrors in most cars.
It also wouldn't magically produce a working display and would make that problem stand out a lot more.
I would like Turn 10 to show us a video where the driver actually uses the gear stick (puts hand on stick and moves it) because I don't believe that it happens in any car, no matter what your view is.

Who knows, the ycould have been rushed by Microsoft to meet the deadline or they would be payed less or something. Or, it could be entirely Turn 10 who rushed it. Either way, they should actually patch their screw ups(mainly broken cockpit HUDS and all of the instabilities and sound glitches). And I know damn well they can drastically update and change the game after release. Criterion did it perfectly fine with Burnout Paradise, and haven't even touched priced dlc half as much as T10 plans to.
I also love the dead dashes, T10 really respected all the people who spent 70 euros to get a half finished game. Thank you moneysoft, hope PD and GT5 will show you how to make a real racing game

Ha! Turn-10 didn't really think that patch update all the way through huh? Folks this interior shot is what it looks like. FM3 is a great racing sim, but Turn-10 completey screwed all of us on the jacked up and "non functional" interiors on MANY of the cars. The car in this vid is an excellent example. So many cars have completey blank or non functioning guages. It looks horrible. They bragged about these new interior views.., but DID NOT deliver on this.
@squeakD i agree with that , and also the tuning misses alot on the drift part of tuning , the liest they could have given are tie rods to increase stability while drifting and more angle off course , and i also miss the ability to increase the distance between the wheels , so they will be even with the fenders , most cars looks terrible becuase of the stock wheel position !

The only cars I can really use interior view on are Formula class cars (F1, GP2 etc) because I find the car's A pillars and such distracting. You aren't really connected to the virtual car so it all just gets in the way, so I use bumper cam.

@MrLionking17 turn 10 has always been more of an arcade than a racing simulator- and for that reason, foer entertainment purposes, turn 10 has always focused on what the players want. xbox live and playstation network's players are very different. I own both games and both have their flaws- and i would say that gt5( although i own every gran tourismo game ever to be released in North america) has more flaws than forza, but forza flaws are more obvious at times

I loved playing forza 3, but lets be honest GT5 may be taking a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG ass time, but their taking the time to make everything perfect. Microsoft finds ways to make money quick, and that just doesnt work good for the consumer. Lets let the REAL Gran Turismo 5 vs Forza 3 fued start when GT5 actually comes out. @megamanacses i hope your not saying that after playing gran turismo 5. Cause when the driver shifts in GT5 he actually does move the stick, not just back and forth, but in the correct order, eg: 1st, 2nd...etc. Even with the paddle shifters, he actually moves them.
turn ten needs to play GT5, then they can see what shifting looks like. In the less detailed cars in GT5, the interior view is functional, he shifts, and turns wheel. Forza is a poor excuse of shifting.

Who cares if it's a rushed game? It's better than nothing. By the time I've milked Forza 3, Gran Turismo 5 will be out. Would've been dumb trying to release similar (but still slightly different; racing vs driving simulator) games near the same time period. It's just like having Bayonetta and Dante's Inferno which were both released this January.
Also, I'm getting tired of PC racing sims. The only ones I enjoy are GTR2 and LFS -- unfortunately, they don't have 'noob' mode like Forza and GT.

I know, the interior view in Forza 3 is horrendous. Your so close to the steering wheel, it's annoying. And a lot of sound effects are half-assed and some car models are not very good. Even some of the stats for the cars when they are stock are not correct. For example, the 2010 Camaro in real life comes with 426 hp, in the game, it comes with 422

I really don't give a shit about that.
The cockpit view could be a lot better: the guy seems like he doesn't even steer the wheel even when you're using a 900º steering wheel pad. Even in LFS that's better. The shifting animation is just a rushed patch, which have failed in many cars, but most of them you won't even notice there's something wrong.
Physics and fun compensate the mistakes. If Forza 4 comes out with this sort of mistakes, well I guess no one gonna buy it.

Forza 3 Proved one thing, Turn 10 is a Microsoft company.

I take no notice of ratings, they are done mostly by websites that rely on advertising revenue from gaming companies.
The fact that none of the bugs/glicthes/ missing features from Forza 2, were mentioned in any of the reviews tells me that they are scared of saying anything bad in relation to a game made by Microsoft.
These are just my thoughts, but they are further backed up by Turn 10 having to delete all posts in the FEEDBACK section of their forum, must have been getting a lot of bad PR.

No, I don't trust any ratings for games. I play them myself or listen to other gamers that play the game, not people that are paid to write a review. That may be just me, I don't know.
A lot of respected Forza players gave there feedback/reveiws to Turn 10. I don't know if the things can be fixed or not, If turn 10 would actually respond to people on their forum we might know.
People deserve to know all the facts about a game before buying it, not just the good things.

The online play is one of the worst things about Forza 3, unless you like being punted off the road by the new breed of so called racers that Turn 10 has attracted.
There are many threads about how bad online racing in in Forza 3 on the official Forza forums. Most are posted by respected members of what used to be the Forza community.

Do not take offence, but do remember that Forza 3 was released in 2 years. Gran Turismo is still in development after four years. And Forza has got NASCAR, a very clean menu, and physics to die for. I hear a LOT of people complaining about the (relatively) bad physics of Gran Turismo. That aside, I do appreciate GT5 for having night and weather racing and Rally racing. Forza only has tarmac rally.

I believe one of the reasons GT5 has taken so long is PD know that they are making another part of a franchise and if they want the franchise to continue strongly GT5 has to be so much better than previous incarnations of the game.
It seems Turn 10 just decided to go the old EA route and release the next part of their franchise no matter what, even if the game is fundamentaly broken for a lot of previously loyal franchise customers. Good way to kill a franchise, ala NFS.

No, all of your cars gauges don't work as the normal HUD ones because this car and a lot of other race cars in Forza 3 look like this in the game.
Have you even driven this car in the game ???
Go and drive this car (Peugeot 207 S) or the #2 Toll Holden Commodore and you will see it. They are the only 2 that I can remember, I gave up on this unfinished game a few weeks ago.
But I'm not surprised that you think this is glitched, there seems to be quite a few glitches in this game.

The gauges in real life are not your exact speed. The number speed is your exact speed whilst the guagespeed is what your car would be showing you in real life. TBH its really because they couldnt be bothered to fix them rather and just blame it on realism.
They spent less than two years making this game and I agree it is unfinished.
GT5 will be so much superior, i dont know how forza fans can still stick up for this. I want to buy this game anyway, but certaintly not at the retail price.

I just got a PS3 and a G27 wheel.
Being in Australia I didn't even get the option of buying the new Fanatec wheel, the crappy Microsoft wheel is just another reason I can't go back to Forza.
I'll be buying all my racing games on the PS3 now.
Mass Effect is the only reason I still have my XBOX 360.

Your shitty ass old school TV IS MAKING IT LOOK BETTER. It basically adds free anti aliasing. That's why you can't read the ingame text on the leaderboards and such, unless you have an old bigscreen or an HDTV(I know, as I had an old school TV until I got a decent HDTV on Black Friday). Also, this game is X360 exclusive.
Also, interior or interiors? Because some of the interiors look great in this game, while others look as bad as this. You may have only driven cars with good, stable cockpits.

Forza 3 never branded itself as a simulator either, it was marketed as a casual game to the casual market. It's catered more to people painting and selling cars than actually racing them.
And no one is compared the physics of Forza to PGR, they are talking about the graphics, it seems like the physics engine in Forza was the only thing that got finished prior to release.

Moving forward would hide the problem with the driver missing the stick, but then i wouldn't be able to see the mirrors in most cars.
It also wouldn't magically produce a working display and would make that problem stand out a lot more.
I would like Turn 10 to show us a video where the driver actually uses the gear stick (puts hand on stick and moves it) because I don't believe that it happens in any car, no matter what your view is.
Turn 10, you say you included SHIFTING, show us SHIFTING.

True, but PGR4 featured some unique cars like the Lotus Cortina and Jaguar D Type, FM3 just features your usual Civics and Truenos that've been in so many games, oh, and it features the Aveo! Now thats a car we wonna race in! Intrestingly the Trucks and SUVs gimmick of FM3 was done years ago in PGR2 yet neither let you race them off road.

Maybe PD saw how rushed Forza 3 was that they decided they didn't need to release it yet, maybe the "March 2010" date was only ever intended to rush Turn 10 to release Forza 3 early. Microsoft love rushing unfinished products out, just look at the actual XBOX 360.

Who knows, the ycould have been rushed by Microsoft to meet the deadline or they would be payed less or something. Or, it could be entirely Turn 10 who rushed it. Either way, they should actually patch their screw ups(mainly broken cockpit HUDS and all of the instabilities and sound glitches). And I know damn well they can drastically update and change the game after release. Criterion did it perfectly fine with Burnout Paradise, and haven't even touched priced dlc half as much as T10 plans to.

Ha! Turn-10 didn't really think that patch update all the way through huh? Folks this interior shot is what it looks like. FM3 is a great racing sim, but Turn-10 completey screwed all of us on the jacked up and "non functional" interiors on MANY of the cars. The car in this vid is an excellent example. So many cars have completey blank or non functioning guages. It looks horrible. They bragged about these new interior views.., but DID NOT deliver on this.

@squeakD i agree with that , and also the tuning misses alot on the drift part of tuning , the liest they could have given are tie rods to increase stability while drifting and more angle off course , and i also miss the ability to increase the distance between the wheels , so they will be even with the fenders , most cars looks terrible becuase of the stock wheel position !
