  • I had the fortune to see them live in those years when they still were a great band even if underground.

  • epic

  • And once Rope got skinny... it was all downhill for CoB lmao

  • @MMbass420 That's not Roope, that's Alexander...

  • @joelrod18 Wow... ive been living a lie!! lmao

  • @MMbass420 lol...

  • @MMbass420 Faill.

  • @MMbass420 how in the hell did you think that was Roope?

  • I just love that guitar solo sequence! Just awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • @OlleElander What's wrong with you?.. ALEXANDER WAS THE GUITARIST OF THE "OLD" CHILDREN OF BODOM..

  • @KillerArkangel wtf? Alexander was the rhythm guitarist. Alexi has ALWAYS been Lead guitar/Vocals.

  • @AEsirProdigies That's what I meant..

  • @KillerArkangel unfortunately i think your on acid because it's always been Alexi as the Lead

im not hating im just telling you

  • @deathmetalguitaristx I know that Alexi has always been the lead guitar.. I only replied to honmiek.. he didn't know who was alexander

  • Alexi is really good guitarist,he is one of my favourites :D

  • @honmiek Very true BUT you have to admit that Roope is better BUT you also have to admit that Alexi is better than them both!

  • @captaincoconut50 NO FREAKIN WAY...Roope is way better than Laiho.Alexi himself said that Roope is better than him but he plays solo because he writes the stuff .. :D

  • @bobiee36 Its called being modest. They are both amazing guitarists in their own right, so shut the fuck up and listen to the heavy fucking metal. \m/

  • @Rinkenshin

Yup.. at least Alexi was when he was able to nail Kissing The Shadows. I think they both have had better days (Sinergy) and especially Roope was awesome in Stone.

  • @bobiee36 and that in itself makes Alexi better doesnt it ?? you need to be able to write good stuff not just play ... but i think Janne is the key to whatever CoB is

  • Good old days when Alex was still in the band

  • @honmiek They seem to have gone downhill since his departure... Sort of sucks.

  • With alexander the band was good.

  • @honmiek and he is my guitar teacher

  • @TheCOB98 WOW , really ?

  • @bubalopes ä

  • @bubalopes yea

  • @TheCOB98 you're so fucking lucky o.o

  • @bubalopes thanks :)

  • @honmiek Hell Yeah! And he's not fat, he's just.. big. Those fuckers who said that Alexander is fat, doesn't know that everyone are going fatter and fatter when your age gets growing up. Sorry for my bad English, I'm just a 6th grader from Finland. There's no better band on the fucking Earth! CHILDREN OF BODOM FOR FUCKING EVER!

  • @Tuominen98

Et oo paljoo bändejä kuullu jos väität CoBii parhaaks..

  • @YoLpIsBest Vaikka kuinka... Parhaasta päästä olevat on mm. Wasp, Sepultura, Pantera, Norther, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer, ja tossa oli vasta osa. ;)

  • @honmiek

    he aint fat anymore.

  • New and Old COB are great!!

  • JEE... HYVÄ SUOMI!!! PERRRRRRRRRRRKELE!!!

  • @honmiek He's just fertile! Many Finns are fertile! But it seems like ppl don't understand that. Looks like he's tall too(Alexander)

  • Why dont they play this stuff live anymore???? I saw them recently, and they kicked ass, but they always play the same fucking songs :p

  • @honmiek He was as fat as he was talented, I really miss him in COB. Since Roope joined, COB are a thrash metal band with keyboards -__-'

  • @DarkLordNagash

Personally, I don't think Roope joining the band has anything to do with their new sound. Alex was in Bodom for Hatecrew Deathroll, and though it's a great album, still really thrash. Roope just does some rhythms, that Alexi had composed. I still respect Roope, for his time in Stone, and was glad to see him solo at Bodom, though.

  • @TwilightZoneBand dude, STONE. HOLY SHIT is all I have to say

  • @TwilightZoneBand And by that I mean. Damn stone is amazing.

  • @TwilightZoneBand HATE CREW DEATHROLL IS BODOMS BEST ALBUM!!!

  • @DemonosSilvast

    No, Hatebreeder is :)

  • i say: the NEW COB is better .

  • NECROPOLIS lol ^^

  • LOVE IT !!

  • @wreckage06 oh my gooooooooooooooood. no wonder u have no friends

  • А е! SUPER!!!!=) \m/

  • Man Alexander was THE SHIT!

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • @honmiek

too bad that those who say he is fat are retarded

  • @wreckage06 this is what I just said lol "lead guitar" = melody + solos

  • @wreckage06 The songwriting on Blooddrunk is somehow different, their rhythms are strange and somehow hard to get. It's true that when I say a song is difficult, I focus much more on the lead guitars, and the older albums just require more skills (even Alexi has NEVER played the Lake Bodom lead part flawless during a concert ^^). So yes it may be a matter of opinion but you can't say I "talk shit"

  • Their new album Blooddrunk is good.

I still think their old stuff is WAY better, though

  • @SabrinnaInTheDark Hatecrew deathroll is the best i think.

  • They're still a great band, but yeah their old stuff is WAY better!

  • post it

  • to bad alexi cant play like this anymore

  • it's more the fact that they don't play these songs a lot. They play the "commercial hits" like in your face (a pretty shitty song IMO) all the time but the really good stuff is left out. They never play Deadnight Warrior, Red Light In My Eyes or Kissing The Shadows. They fucking should ^^

  • i would have to assume that they dont play the old stuff anymore is because he cant..

  • well there is a quite recent video of kissing the shadows played in canada I think. and KTS is their most difficult song ever along with lake bodom, which they still play a lot. So it's not a skill problem ^^

It's because the songs that people know better are the commercial ones like In Your Face or Are You Dead Yet?, so these are the ones who will be played a lot

Going commercial destroys a lot of bands IMO : see In Flames, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer,...

  • Not True actually Alexi and Janne and Jaska have all said Lobotomy from Blood Drunk is the hardist song and Alexi had to Promise Janne they wouldn't play it live because it's to hard.

and I wish people would leave the whole idea about going commercial behind if you listen to how alexi talks about the music he Writes and what he writes in children of Bodom theres no way he'd let his music be changed by any one apart from him and bodom there not going Commercial Alexi just wants to play that styl

  • Of course they play what they want to but their newer music is less melodic; and their sense of melody is what made them so unique and famous. Their newer stuff is going thrashy and I think it makes them commercial because they "work less"on their new albums. I don't criticize them, I'm just saying they could do "better".

  • And besides, LoBodomy is not difficult, at least not compared to other COB songs. The hardest ones : Lake Bodom, Downfall, Hate Me!, Kissing The Shadows, Bodom Beach Terror etc but Blooddrunk is really not the record with the most challenging songs. I play guitar, bass and I do vocals, I think I can tell ^^

  • well aren't you just special

  • @blackseedsofvengance No I'm not ^^

  • @DarkLordNagash

I play guitar Piano bass vocals and Drums mister you don't have a High Ground but if you look at the rhythms for LoBodomy I challenge you to get a whole band doing that in time

your going hardest from the point of one instrument

  • @TheKeswickGallagher Maybe you can play but it seems you can't read, let me quote myself : "I focus much more on lead guitars"

God here's a lot of stubborn people, I agree that LoBodomy's rhythm is very technical but as I said, that's not my point. It's true that the tracks on Blooddrunk are difficult, but the stuff they did before is also very hard. Take Lake Bodom for example, this track is very difficult for every instrument, and still it sounds much better than their recent stuff IMO ^^

  • actually they do still play play DW and KTS live.....sometimes lol

  • @supapuffy2007 Deadnight Warrior sometimes yeah, but I only found TWO videos of Kissing The Shadows live : in Seoul, when the Follow The Reaper album just came out and they wanted to show the new songs, and a recent one in Canada. Only two, this song is nine years old ^^

And Red Light In My Eyes is really underrated, again there is only one or two videos on YouTube. Why, it's great ! PLAY IT FTW ^^

  • @DarkLordNagash i actually have a video of them doing kissing the shadows three weks or so ago but the sound quality sucks balls.....

  • @thenorthwind i saw him live he cut down a lottt on drinking so he can he didnt make one mistake live at the shw i was at

  • @deathmetalguitaristx dude thats only because ur not in the band... if youve ever played on stage you'll be the only 1 noticing your mistakes... unless its really bad...

  • @thenorthwind saw him the other day, he plays better.

  • Hatebreeder and Follow th Reaper

  • Love this song, greatest CoB solo ever, I wish that they'd play this one again.

  • Hate crew deathroll second worst album (after blooddrunk of course)

Since kuoppala left COB are going thrashy, HCD is not really good.

Their three first studio albums are way better, they had more inspiration and their stuff was original back then. Nowadays they produce low-end commercial stuff

  • Well said my friend, I think a lot of people are afraid to admit the truth because it is seen as some sort of blasphemy in their eyes.

  • Yeah possibly, I as amusician give a point of view based on the music (lyrics too) instead of the image of the band. And the older stuff is just better, there's more inside, now they put all their ideas into songs and don't get new stuff

  • They need to get AK back

  • @DarkLordNagash i think every band seems to go down hill after 3 albums *cough* metallica. Well really theyre like after 5 but still. I see your point

  • not every band sucks after three releases, but it's true that if you keep the same line-up through the years, the sound will remain the same and the ideas will run out fast, so a few new members bring fresh stuff and so. But it also changes the sound a lot and when a band's sound is already established, a brutal change such as roope's arrival in COB, people don't want to accept the new stuff as a continuation of the previous material. Example : nightwish ^^

  • What was the song that Roope did a guitar solo in? Or am i hearing wrong things o.0

  • banned from heaven

  • i don't know who would agree with me, but the old COB is better.

  • i totally agree man. i dislike their new album very much. their best album (in my opinion) is hatebreeder

  • @Deadflesh1666 Hell yeah it's way better.

  • @Deadflesh1666 unfortunately I think that anyone who knows shit about music would have to agree with you.

  • @Deadflesh1666 there is no old CoB or new CoB, they are still the same just are losing some of their creativity, they are still awesome but the first albums were more creative

  • @Deadflesh1666 I agree, then they were black/death metal

  • @Deadflesh1666 i agree man, especially in the classical part, its something i loved from

  • Oh fuck i how love this song from the moment i discovered it one of the best songs by CoB

  • definetly one of the best songs by them

  • man that awsome trhat u happened to be right by alexander. SEEIN THEM LIVE SOON! OLD COB FOR LIFE!!! and some new cob...

  • lol alexander is going wild :DDS

  • i'm a huge fan of cob and i think all their albums kick some ass ... but i really prefer the time when they were more death metal just like in something wild and hatebreeder..... but i still love their new stuff cob rules =D

  • There are so many jackoffs on these boards that claim "If you don't like all COB albums you aren't a true fan." No, some of us just aren't so retarded as to delude ourselves into liking subpar material.

  • kuopalla was part of cob till hatecrew deathroll

  • Kuopalla left after HCDT

  • I know...i think you did not get anything of comment, dumbass

  • Easy to call someone a dumbass online isnt it? You only call me it coz ur insecure bout ur sordid sexual fantasies about pokemon cards. Its okay though, I'd call someone a dumbass too if i were in ur shoes. So when u stop wettin the bed, and find a pair in ur trousers, come look me up =D

  • Sorry, i'll not respond to childish people anymore.

  • You just did.. Who's the dumbass now?

  • dude, it's 2000 e.v. , there's no Roope in Cob yet.

  • Hey, why dont you take your whiny ass somewhere else, seems like everyone else here is and actual bodom fan and likes all the albums, so shut the hell up! COBHC For Life \m/

  • I like this song better when its got the theme from the movie the rock

  • Kuoppala kicks ass! Too bad he's so extralarge XD

Still, awesome video with rare footage of Alexander!

  • My favorite. <3

  • alexander kicks ass

  • alexi laiho is my idol.

  • classic Bodom

  • this song kick some serious ass!!

  • :O Jaska using a double bass drum

  • He always did... Not so much something wild but in hatebreeder he did in every song

  • yeah but.. 2 bass drums??? :O as far i know.. jaska has always used only one (obviously with a double pedal)

  • Yea xD lol idk 2 bass drums sounds nicer XD and its easier on the skin. lol but yeahh i think in stockhome he used 2

  • YEA CoB ROCKS TOTALLY GO FINLAND

  • yeah alexander headbang like a mutha... oh excuse my language

  • one thing i truly love about CoB is that they dont change their line up. only reason Ale left was because he wanted to be with his family. otherwise same lineup. i love Cradle of Filth to death, fav band, but man theyve had something like 25 members. reminds me of Sabbath. hell at points not a single member of Sabbath was original. my dad actually had an album called Black Sabbath The Seventh Star FEATURING Toni Iommi WTF

  • hehe simple plan never changed their line up

  • something wild, hatebreeder and follow the reaper. Fuck blooddrunk

  • hell yeah. agreed.

  • i don't know any of them seems like a nice concert go,go

  • i was at this

    it owned

  • I really liked alexander. I also like roope too..hes cool

  • Alexander sucks Roope is much better!!!!

    And he is Fat(alexander):)!!!

    Fuck u haters!!!

  • Yes, Roope is much better. But if you're saying you hate Alexander (Especially because he is fat), you're a fucking idiot, and unworthy of listening to Children of Bodom.

  • Man what are you guys talking about. Alexander was awesome! He had the best stage presence! Sure, Roope is cool but I personally like Alex better.

  • No the old guitarist Alexander Kuoppala.

  • hmm, what are the best albums, Something Wild, Hatebreeder and Follow the reaper, i wonder which ones alexander was a part of, hmm

  • Ok Ok I don't give a shit!!!! Ilove COB but i hate alexander for leavin' them in the middle of a tour!!!

  • ya i completely agree with you there, lol he missed out on so much, i bet he prolly regrets leaving now lol

  • I love their headbanging!

  • singer and lead guitar: alexi laiho

    rythim guitar:Alexander kuoppala

remember this vid is from 2000

now the currently rythim guitarist is roope latvala..

  • But how can you know what's there real name?

    It's usually a secret...

  • Alexander had so much energy back in the day.

  • ???

  • I was talking about Alexander Kuoppala not Alexi. From your responses I'm assuming you don't know much about the other members of Bodom.... especially former ones. Alexander no longer plays with Bodom so I was commenting on how energetic his performance was on this old video.

  • @COBHC4: ROFLMAO!!!

"ahhhahaha his names not alexander "

    ROFLMAO! ROFLMAO! ROFLMAO!!!

    xD

Search wikipedia for Children Of Bodom... ;)

  • your fuckin stupid BIRTHNAME: Markku Uula Aleksi Laiho

  • Fucking dipshit ALEXANDER KUOPPALA IS A DIFFERENT PERSON.

  • hes name is alexander you gay...

  • nice sound quallity

  • ^^ Love this song ay

  • It sucks that they hardly ever play their best songs from the first album anymore :/

  • yeb, i agree..."something wild" is the best!!!

  • what tracks do they play?

  • Lake Bodom and Somehting wild are the only tracks they play live now....and they usually dont even play thoes

  • something wild is da best album, no doubt

they are comming fuckin mainstream metal.. WTF

  • im not even going to respond to that.....

  • btw u just responded to that

and they are going mainstream, listen to bloodrunk, that sucks

  • why is it that when bands get popular, people just say "oh they are totally mainstream now QQ" Inearthed-Blooddrunk i love all of the music they make, not bodom's fault you cant accept change.

Every band changes their musical style at some point, and bodom did that with AYDY.

But like alexi has said many times, the neo-classical element they used isnt out yet, and will most likely be a key factor in some of their upcoming albums.

    get used to it.

  • Awesoooomeeeee !

  • dam, this is my favorite song.....i wish they would play it live again....

  • NICE (Y)
