qu'elle machine ! what a bike. I've got a BSA A10. But the comet is a dream i will make come true someday. I just love your video ! what a music for a beautiful engine !
My friend and his new wife went to the Isle of Man TT on a brand new Comet in the mid fifties. He put the bike in the garage when they got back and it has never been out since. It has the original paintwork.
He is now in his eighties, still married to the same lady. Still won't part with the bike though.
The joy of riding, the satisfaction to be"one with Nature" , the feeling of strength due to sounds of the engine...this is really a Great moment...Congratulations...keep on riding and give us a new video
The thing about the 500 cc single is that it was so tractable. It was not a high revving engine but had a ton of torque down low. It made for very nice riding, and of course, that great single cylinder sound. We need a return to bikes like these.
I can not understand ,why Vincent did not release the new comet B engine in 1946. No one was riding big bikes in England. I think they should of released a 500cc for the British market and a 650cc Comet for the American market to dominate the flat tracks. Getting a 500cc comet earlier on the European race circit, would of been smarter. Later riders might trade and buy the new 1000cc. But nobody will trade a 1000cc for a 500cc. I bet they were on a shoe string buget also.
That takes me back to 1967-69 when I owned one of these! Nicely ridden too. Thank you! Bit of a difference to V fours, straight fours and flat sixes these days...
Lovely bike, awsome sound to that motor, but please repeat that ride without backing off around the bends. It's tedious to watch.

Beautiful. Who cares about some other Vincent owners mocking the Comet as 'half a Vincent', you keep on riding it! If only I could afford one...
