  • Once while walking past Al's place in New Orleans I saw Edgar Winter Playing piano alone in the afternoon. Too bad Al wasn't there. JUst another place that's gone never to be seen again. So sad.

  • If you know anything about playing the trumpet, appreciate what this man Al Hirt can do with that horn.....he is the greatest ever....keep listening and don,t forget him.

  • are you sure this is stardust? i've been trying to find this song and every other one sounds completely different from this, do you know where i can download this version?

  • @zakkyvicious1 dear yaketty yak: it is most definitely stardust. its just the round mound with quite a lot of improvs thrown in along the way. al hirt was simply the greatett.if u listen to the words at about 2 minutes, u will hear the some of the lyrics from the song.

  • I had the pleasure of knowing the man personally. He was best friends with my sensai. My dojo was in the French Quarter in New Orleans. I knew when Mr Hurt walked in, I would be teaching Judo classes by myself the rest of the day. It is a fond memory.
