This would have been a great concept years ago, but it's obsolescent now. I remember long ago when I was a kid how my parents actually had lit candles on the tree. And in the 1970s, electric lights were at least 7 watts each and put out quite a bit of heat. With super low-wattage LED Christmas lights becoming more popular and affordable, Christmas tree fires will largely be a thing of the past.

NOT WRAPPING A TREE IN ELETRICITY, it's one stupid habits ever, the only place i've ever heard of christmas trees accidents are in the USA... it's like: " hey little kid go play with this venomous snake, but take this vial of anti venom just in case"

also it's a dumb invention, any firefighter know you should'nt spray water in eletrical lines! it's a big huge fraud...

Look, years ago people had real CANDLES on their Christmas trees. This practice started in Europe, not the US, jerk. And last I checked, lots of European countries still celebrate Christmas and put lights around their trees the same way we do. You can argue that maybe it's a bad practice, but don't make it anti-American because that just makes you look like an idiot.

Those Euro-peons you worship DO follow the same traditions of lighting up Christmas trees that we have, so contrary to your bullshit they're no better than we are. I also don't see anybody over in Europe trying to come up with a fire suppression system for their Christmas ornaments. And while using water on an electrical fire CAN cause electrocution if you're HOLDING a water-based fire extinguisher, this device operates without human contact - like a regular building sprinkler system.

You say people should abolish the tradition of putting electric lights around their trees. I say just switch to the newer low-wattage LEDS (or at least not buy cheap poorly-made uninspected incandescent light strings from China and overloading them), and add a fire suppressor to the top of the tree, just in case. Then people can keep their fun with a negligible amount of risk. Now, isn't that more intelligent?

Also, my father is a fire fighter, and I wish I could personally thank this man. My father has responded to countless fires at Christmas time, many with tragic results.
