This is a BRILLIANT interpretation of a beautiful song that doesn't take its place, it enhances the original and compliments the original composer. The new tempo offers an upbeat feeling that doesn't allow the listener not to be caught up in the moment, to be swept up by the beauty. Try being a little more open. There is more than one wine

First off bud, how could I say that to the Eagles? Being the writers of Hotel California which is widely considered one of the best songs of all time. And second, why pick me to bitch at, there are many other people on here who said pretty much the same thing I did. In my view, him singing and playing as fast as he is, is making this not so much a relaxing song. I have no problem that he's interpreting it differently, I'm simply SUGGESTING that he slow it down a bit.

@LaGoonch I'm not really bitching, just takin' a little heat for Matt. Being really upbeat plus the content of the song is something close to home with a friends particular situation right now. As far as targeting, being at the top of the list chronologically was pretty much it. No real offense meant. You have to admit, Calder has tremendous talents held be few people, to be able to do what he does. I hope you enjoy all music as much as I. Peace.

Also I wondered is a deliberate choice to stay on the same chord when you get to phrases like:

"I could not believe the information...."

"I was feeling part of the scenery etc."

I'm wondering if it's an interpretive choice, or because of a tuning factor or the

most obvious and amazing fact that you are keeping so many things going at once?

What Matt will realize in time, as awesome as this is, is that he will be relegated to small rooms where they can see what is going as part of the show, only. This translates into smaller $ (small rooms, visually dependent for effect, etc.). This was my experience for 12 years with bass pedals.

The other consideration is repertoire self-limitation. My respect/love goes out to anyone ultimately playing gigs for a living.
