  • its wanking :P

  • eww. it looks 'orrible' but it is pretty cool.

  • trzęsie się jak galareta-faktycznie stabilny...

  • u shud get a gyro sensor.............this looks kinda scary

  • I don't know exactly how this works, since I don't have a lego mindstorm, but try setting the delta distance a little higher, so it will not wobble so much.

    Something like Torque=(desired_distance - current_distance) + 1/3*delta(current_distance)

Also, try playing with the exponent, it's a trial and error I guess.

Sorry, I'm sure you know more than me about robotics, since I never programmed a robot, but I was just trying to help.

  • it's called a segway

  • @xavierduke its a pun stupid

    lego-segway

  • Its so stable it could surf with the alien!

  • @SuperZeebs very true

  • nxt LEGWAY !!!!!!!??????

  • real kool

  • Well done, next challenge, do it without the light sensor (hint, accelerometer)

  • HA HA, you clown! (hint don't talk bullshit)

    This is lego you fool!

  • actually they do sell accelerometers for lego.

  • beautiful man!!

    @bobobano: don't think that will work... A G-sensor, maybe.

  • @lievenv

    A G-Sensor is an Accelerometer

  • there's a difference between sensors that measure the angle of gravity and sensors that measure acceleration, right?

I thinks the latter would be pretty much useless for the Legway...

  • accelerometers do measure the angle of gravity

  • 200 years in the future,

history teacher: "and that's how those scums forced our ancestors to be cripples and laughed at them for their own pleasure."

  • add a gyroscope and that should end the wobbling.

  • if you put wieght on one side would it roll one direction to compensate? oh even used that idea to control its ability to move back and fourth on 2 wheels

  • haha unfitting music

  • Joe Satriani - Surfing with the Alien

    yeh

  • it jerks due to da backlash in da geared motors.....

  • Don't you understand... You're giveing them the tools to kill us all! lol

  • increase the damping and decrease the derivative gain in ur controller

  • You should consider lowering the scan frequency so you don't get that jerkiness

  • now make a unicycle XD

  • That would need a Gyroscopic sensor in the X and Y direction, and a wheel that can rotate. It would be totally sweet xD

  • Put two motors on either side of the wheel, making them go in both directions. Attach the gyrosensor to the motor. Although, the nxt brick would weigh it down alot.

  • it over corrects itself

  • how do jou program it?

  • If u mean it what i think, this 'guy' are programmed it on computer (using some kind of usb connect)

  • oh yeah surfin with the alien baby

  • Impressive, thanks for sharing...can this be built with the standard kit?

  • i think it can- at least with the kits that we have at our school

  • u shuld be filming at the 19`th not at the 18`th the 19`th is the best

  • wht is he doing?

  • Combined with the music, I find this hilarious. Maybe I'm just simple. Good work, though. (:

  • if you try to reduce the motor speed it would be more stable i think ;-)

  • It wouldn't react as fast. So i don't think it would work :)

  • Asides the long extensions for the sensors I'm impressed.

  • Song is Surfing with the Alien by Joe Satriani. It's a fun song on Guitar Hero 3's downloadable content.

  • Ugh. Segaway is better. Sorry.

  • its legway (lego)way.

  • segway is 20x more expensive

  • yeah ! Lego and satriani ! perfect ;-)

  • Next step is to make it move.

  • It's not "very stable"

    Search: segway nxt bluetooth controlled

  • thats the song on nascar for n64

  • Is it actually on Nascar for N64? Cuz it's a song by Joe Satriani.

  • yeah...a masturbating robot..

  • you could always buyed a gyro sensor instead.

  • what happens if you push it?

  • It's pretty stable. As long as you don't push too hard it will stay up.

  • But can you program it to drive ex. turn right??

  • whats the code you used? Did you make it?

  • love it! 5 stars ! I do have something to ask, I know there was a light sensor in the front but, I did not see a light sensor in the back! What was on the back? Im getting a mindstorm nxt for my birthday =-) I can't wait! (lol) umm.... nice, can you send me a video of how you made it and voice to the video? Thank you and when i get mindstorm i will try to make a better legway than that =-) (ill try) lol

  • my gues is that its just for balance.

  • I hope you got your mindstorm and you are enjoying it. On the back side was the touch sensor. It wasn't used for anything just as a counterweight to the light sensor in the front.
