  • piccolo trumpets rule. end of story

  • these are some of the coolest drill sets I have ever seen in my life...

  • สวดยอด

  • this not the whole show either

  • @DQman Uhh yeah it is

  • @angie1553830 the whole show is around 13 or 14 minutes long

  • @angie1553830 no its not if u clearly look in the description there is the full show

  • I love The Cavaliers

  • oh. my. god!!!!!!!!

  • three of my directors marched in this show......u should see our high school perform.!!

  • we meet again 240p...

  • dude thats awesome

  • Why can't a cavalier come to our highschool marching band help us at gateway. We could really use it

  • damn this is cool :D

  • We got someone from the cavilers working with our highschool marching band doing drill and stuff!

  • I have the guy who coaches drill to the Cavaliers working with our highschool marching band!

  • EPIC trumpet duet :D!

  • This is by far the the most amazing DCI performance I've seen to date. I am also a fan of the traditional style of marching.

  • Epic video. this was used to inspire our marching band to do better. it actually might have worked....

  • My band director played in this

  • Lady GaGa get out of the suggestions. This is Drum and Bugle Corps, not the Grammys.

  • definitely not as good as samurai.. but close lol didnt enjoy mad world as much tho

  • muito bom esse caras

  • What kind of trumpets do they use at 2:30 its cuz i see the two solosits switch trumpets at 2:10

  • @531kinga I am pretty sure they are piccolo trumpets

  • @531kinga they were piccolo trumpets. There was originally supposed to be 4 piccolo trumpet soloist but it didnt fit the them of the show so it was dropped down to two.

  • @verdantblue true but its funny that they still refer to them as contras

  • love it! <3

  • @ 2:30 epic high night

  • Am I the only person whose mind is still blow at 4:01 after seeing it like 50 times?

  • @rockstarduh5 coming up to that set right before we start the verticle rotating triangles, i was hit in face by a tuba during a runthrough at the begining of the season and needless to say it took us a little bit to really grasp what we were doing . a few people collided ending with bloody mouths while trying to learn the drill with instruments!

  • @robocavie06 You sir, are a legend. Being a tenor player, every time someone runs in to me, they are the one that gets hurt haha!

  • @rockstarduh5 Mine still does and ive been watching them since before 06. im pretty sure they did the machine on 2001 or somwhere around that time

  • 4:12 is just awesome

  • este si es trabajo de profesionales, y si no me equivoco son puros chavitos no mayores de 17 años, y no como la misma porqueria que sacan en el INBECC O EL MENTADO SAN MATEO.

  • For lack of a word to sufficiently capture the awesomeness of that show, I must call it badass.

  • y no tubas??

  • @sea2see2me The only think I can figure is that you are suffering to the lack of sousaphones. There are no sousaphones because drum corps march instruments called contras. They look a lot like a concert tuba but are held on the left shoulder. They can be seen pretty clearly at :46.

  • @sea2see2me ummm theres tubas in here they r just contras

  • @tp3katie corps don't march real contras anymore. They usually march convertible concert horns, or marching tubas, but there are no corps that really march contrabass bugles anymore.

  • @VerdantBlue

It's quite the opposite. Convertible horns have worse tone quality... Drum corps would invest in nothing but the best for their corps.

  • @VerdantBlue

no...i know for a fact they are contras, and they're plenty real at that.

  • @paradiddle1389 The cavaliers stopped using Contras in 2001a

nd switched to marching tubas because they were much darker and warmer and fit the sound that the brass staff was trying to accomplish. You can tell by the hand placement on from 01 to 02. in 01 they were crossed as most contras were, but in 02 they are not. Just a little snipit of info :-)

  • @robocavie06

Thats cool. I've heard guys that have marched corps that still call them contras. so that's why i figured.

  • 2:15 are those pocket trumpets or piccolo trumpets?

  • @OpulentRedrum They are most certainly picc trumpets.

  • @Deathwish42 aww... I was kinda hoping I could go pick up a cheap pocket trumpet for 80 bucks and learn that bit for my band director’s birthday. Oh well. I’ll see what I can do on my regular Bb. If I can get a camera I’ll post a video of me and my friend [attempting] to copy this. haha. Thanks for answering my question, though

  • Sounds nice(:

But they have Nooooo balls at all hahaha

  • This is one of my favorite show pieces EVER

  • i feel like such a bad ass to say that my horn instructor marched that show... just to even know a Cavalier makes you a bad ass...

  • @orangecops Heck yes!!! my assistant band director marched contra in this show and in ’05 too =D

  • @orangecops our trumpet instructor marched for the Cavaliers. our trombone/baritone instructor marched for the Cadets. our full brass instructor marched for Carolina Crown

  • @ulquiorra621 DAAAAAMN!

  • @qedftgddd btw i forgot to say. our baritone guy marched for the 2011 Cadets so that means he won DCI Championships this year ;)

  • @ulquiorra621 Our trumpet tech this summer is on the verge of becoming Crown's drum major.

  • @orangecops I feel like such a bad ass knowing that my instructor marched a Cavalier show when they still ran G bugles.

  • Which band is this? Must be from Texas, they got some bad ass bands down here

  • @ZXROMEO Band? I think you're looking for the word corps.

  • 2:32 ... dont i wish

  • I saw this one live in Columbia, MO!! My first DCI ever! :)

  • This is prob my fav DCI show that I've seen

  • I'm gonna have to say that the best Cavaliers performance is their 1995 show "Planets"

  • The cavaliers never dissapoint.

  • @chrissygirl30153 Hey I'm going to see the Southerners this saturday too !

  • From a visual design standpoint, the design and execution of this show is simply stunning. POSSIBLEY, the best EVER in the history of DCI. I have watched this show so many times, backwards, forwards, upside down, it does not matter. They simply did not make any visual mistakes. Absolutely STUNNING!

  • @cainanuk well this show is the reason they are the GREEN MACHINES :)

  • totally agree @whensuddenlyaMANKEY i have a marching competition today, no other way to get pumped than to watch some DCI :)

  • The reason there is no girls is because it started as boy scouts...Hence no girls in boy scouts, so they are only carrying on a tradition. But they are amazing.

  • Cavaliers are so amazing i wanna see them in real life it must be amazing seeing them

  • Ok...it's between this, or Frameworks *grunts* ahhh both were so legendary!!

  • I like how there's no female guard.

  • @Tenac3000 it's an all male corps... there are no girls in it at all.

  • Damn straight. That's the way it should be. It's just, in my Highschool marching band, all of our guard are girls.

  • Comment removed

  • @Tenac3000 Most HighSchool Guards are girls Only.

  • Holy crap, flawless.

  • anybody wanna hear a joke? womens rights lol

  • I think this was hands down their best show ever.........If you want eccentric and dark, look at this years BD show, the judges marked it high, but if was not a crowd favorite by any means..............

  • i really like this show. dont get me wrong. but did it come off to anyone else like this stood still a lot? like the horns, yes the drill is rediculous but it seemed like when theyre really playing their not moving. like 1:24 yes their dancing but not much movement with the playing.

  • @Promark25 everyone does that except cadets stars, and BD this last year

  • at 4:03 ... what instruments are those that are over their shoulders? I dont think those are sousaphones.

  • @pupppenguin its called a contra

  • @pupppenguin contra tubas

  • @marasonks contra bass tyvm.

  • @pupppenguin The proper term is Contrabass Bugle. It is the lowest pitched bugle in the Drum and Bugle Corps, serving as the marching tuba on the field. It is commonly referred to as "The Bazooka".

  • go pit!

  • That drill looks so hard...

  • I think this show was the end of an era for the cavies. I was glad to witness it live, but after this 07-09, and even 10 just doesnt have the same level of design, especially the trademark visual program that started with 99.

Part of me wishes that they would go back to their old style, which was more orchestral and less esoteric/visually-oriented.

  • @3:48 the judge almost gets hit by a rifle. lol

  • I actually saw this on the 2006 D.C.I. dvd and what got me so excited before they even started the show was that they came marching onto the field making hissing noises just like a machine working!!! They sounded so awesome! The show blew my mind!!

  • 2:32 always gives me chills

  • does anyone know where i can see this cu i really wanna see the opener and the ballad ive yet to see the begining plz and thank you :)

  • Comment removed

  • epic

  • i love this show

  • ...my mind was blown! lol this is AMAZZZING!!!

  • Trumpet solo at 2:13—My new band director Mike Gillespie.

  • I remember seeing this on ESPN back then. I was blown away. I just saw them again in 2008 live in Atlanta and Im going to seen them again this Saturday. I can't wait! I get chills every time I see them play!

  • Has anyone seen "Mad World?" :D Probably one of my favorite shows performed by The Cavaliers!!! :)

  • @boydbronco94 yup. i liked it

  • @dreamtheaterepicwin Who wouldn't? ;)

  • @boydbronco94 lol. i think the coolest thing about it is the creepy ass voices

  • @dreamtheaterepicwin I loved everything about it (: I have never said "omg" so many times (consecutively) from watching ANY performance. XD Gosh.. I wish I could join a Drum Corp. :|

  • Nothing like a good DCI show to get the blood pumping, and to get you excited for your own season!

  • @whensuddenlyaMANKEY Seriously does. our band teacher showed us this and I was like, "OMG! WHY CAN'T WE DO THIS??!!" Despite starting on the Football team so I'll only get to do the field show once.

  • @meepenator3 You answered your own question. You can't perform at this level unless it is your number one priority. You are talking at least 16 hours days.

  • @WELambert01 Yeah. which sucks. But still, this is great. I'm sooo contradictory. Football AND Marching Band. :P

  • This drill is insanely retarded hard....love it!!

  • i love the cavaliers and this show in particular, but for it being the most amazing prefrormance ever, i feel The Phantom Regiment's I Am Sparticus show topped this.

  • @bandy4lyfe In my opinion, Phenomenon of Cool (Blue Devils 2003) was one of the best performances I've seen so far.

  • this continues to be my favorite show!

  • DANG IT! it is`nt possible!(mumble mumble)

  • weak kau

  • oh shiiit listen to those horns

  • Baritone 1988 - Year of the Firebird

LOVED this show........as much as Frameworks and Four Corners.

It's MAD WORLD 2010........go get em gentlemen!!

    SPLOOIE!!!

  • Art in its purist form...amen

  • 2:33 what not is that. concert d? idk on a picolo trumpet

  • I was in DCI back in the 70's. It is AMAZING how far it has come since then.

  • AMAZING. but.....LMAO @ the guy at 2:52

  • @MistressAfton Who?

  • oddblacksheepx you play ball? you have to check this out - (50 inch vertical [dot] com) - It's a specialized training program that will def help you start dunking without even going to the local gym , it's optional!

  • bravo!!!

  • @aoJvoJDee daaaaaammmnnnn

  • wooo yo oddblacksheepx this is first-rate if you want to learn how to dunk you have to go here now - "50inch vertical [dot] com"

    check it later #VIDEOPOSTERID#

  • 2:32 goosebumps everytime

  • @mattparker93 mmmhm

  • guard guy at 1:49... i lose it everytime.

ps i miss these cavaliers. this is show design perfection... flawless visual and music integration combined with great execution. is it still the same design team these days? they need to go back to what works. this whole cavies losing to crown thing is bullshit

  • Wow they completely skipped the ballad. I'm just now realizing that!

  • best hornline i can see....power...

  • @hazeed1 yeah homie

  • what is that high note at 2:35?

  • 2:20 to 2:37 - greatest moment in DCI history

  • I'm in love with that Tuba line.

  • I heard you guys have anal orgies on tour...faggots

  • I've never seen the drill and music compliment each other more.

  • @releewasgay are you kidding me? have you never seen a cadets or scouts show?

  • @tacos931s yeah i have, and they are just as amazing. I'm just saying that drill goes great with the music. I think because the theme, "machine", is something that can be expressed well with shapes and movement. A show like, West Side Story, for example would have the theme conveyed more through the theatrics of the guard. The cavies show music just lends itself to really good visual effects, more than any other I've seen in a while. Its just good drill music

  • @releewasgay the effects they do might be cool, but the cavaliers often have music phrases and visual phrases that dont line up

  • anybody other than #VIDEOPOSTERID# tried the nba training course for dunking and shooting? Even players like Ray Allen have suggested this program. If you don t know what I m talking about, take a look at it yourself 50inch vertical[dot]com

The Cavaliers 2006 at DCI - The Machine

  • oddblacksheepx, is 5 9, American and can dunk. Wtf you mean white guys can t jump? It s (just|simply|all)# about the training people do to get their jump to be high enough to dunk. For me, I just used the training workout over at (50 inch vertical [dot] com)

  • oddblacksheepx that's why I like NBA even with its issues. I'm doing this workout program that's used even by NBA players - 50inch vertical[dot]com - I am already jumping higher and dominating on the court!

The Cavaliers 2006 at DCI - The Machine

  • 2:34

  • @RJones306 oh damn you have no idea!!!!

  • i was in band class day before spring break and i had never heard of dci i saw this show and now im hooked this is amazing wish i culd hav been there live

  • oddblacksheepx, I play basketball every other day. I'm simply 5'8 and I can dunk! I simply took the training workout at 50 inch vertical (dot) com - anyone can do it

The Cavaliers 2006 at DCI - The Machine

  • Awesome!!

  • but i still like the cavs better:)

  • my brother is lead snare in blue smoke.

  • wrong corp man

  • my brother is one of the dancers! ahh! i <3 them ...im joining a smaller group...yeaaah

  • start in a small corps especially if young, work hard and u could too be in cavs

  • OMG! What a spine-tingler!

  • best fucken show ever!!!!

  • well this is an amazing performace by my favorite corp, but i do like thier 2008 show the samari show a little more. but they suprise and amaze me every year and i cant wait till thier 2010 show is out

  • Our drum major in Sebring was inspired with these guys and modeled our visuals after theirs.

  • this show is what our next years show is about...well close 2 it

  • WOW you are great!! cool touch that mimic only bad !!!!! is a band so if you can call it from Teziutlan Puebla, MEXICO call DRAGONS MARCHING BAND you took the uniform .... and who lack imagination and are more holes than the telenovela rebel but did not play well you pay attention to those poor fools not only copy songs from bands PUEBLA, MEXICO as AGUILAS DORADAS Marching Band, AGUILUCHOS MARCHING BAND; PEGASOS MARCHING BAND among others ...

  • hummmm! Excuase me but Cavaliers is Not a marching band...and I've been into Drum Corps for about 15 years and let me tell you that it is out of reach to get even close to this particular show... Since 1975 I've seen Drum Corps and ,,,, The Green Machine is the Best ever,,, Even if I love Blue Devils the Green Machine make me raise off my chair..!!!!

    Sorry about your marching band....

  • Steven Estudillo (Baritone) writes "drill" for our marching band

  • All shall fear the ass raping contra circle at 0:45

  • Richard Saucedo also wrote our music for marching.. journey of man

  • after the guy is done doing the robot pay attention to the colorguard guy that stops him. LMAO XDXDXDXDXDXDXD

  • lol

  • @chickmunk1208 im the guy doing the robot (Matt) and the guy that you're talking about (Raphael) wanted to do that so bad but he had so little time to do it that they finally let him do that. He kept getting upset each time that he mised it and almost knocked me down in one show in i believe Texas! Just a little side story for ya...

  • lol nice. I wouldve done it too.

  • and Vista Murrieta High School's music. Im in it so dont try to say no. lol.

  • Damn ...they should do a show baced on the saw series or something with like lancers on tubas playing heavy music themes!! lolz

  • I hate how the field judge is always in the way

  • truely incredible (:

  • The Cavaliers are a machine!!!
