Parellel = same signal...........simply plug the 'Parellel out' of the speaker taking the initial signal and plug it into the 'input' of the other speaker. This only works for powered speakers! Unpowered speakers have different cable and amplifier requirements.'
This video should have been called "How to connect POWERED speakers to a mixer." Introducing Speakon cables without further explanation raises more questions and he doesn't answer them. Introducing 1/4" cables without explanation is worse because 1/4" is used both as speaker cable and line level cable (much to my chagrin) and confusing those could lead to bad results including equipment damage.
There are no videos explaining UNpowered set up. This is what I'm doing.
Microphone to line 1 by XLR
Then out the stereo with with quarter inch I connect to the back of the Amplifire that says "Intput A". Then I use a Speak-on/quarter inch I connect the Amps "Output" jack to the one monitor I have.
What am I doing wrong? (I have no speakers just a monitor)
@PogoPerson Check to see if the microphone you're using requires phantom power and that your unit supports that, also I've been known to sometimes forget about turning on a microphone if it has an on-off switch - what kind of equipment are you using? Are there any LED indicators showing you're receiving signal and you're just not hearing it through the speaker?
@bubbathemonkey123 Probably because people are to stupid to understand this. I ran a live gig last week and all these wanna be, big shit bands didn't know anything and were trying to tell me do to my job. If you're gonna be a band, at least know how to SOME WHAT run SOME THING.
With the type of speakers in this video "JBL's" you could just plug the mic directly the speaker. It has a mic/line switch. However the mixer gives more flexibility with EQ and Gain control.
You cant really plug this directly to unpowered speakers - without Amp you wont hear anything
what is the names of all of the equipment you use. and how do you connect a speaker if the mixer does not have output xlr holes.(the mixer i am talking about is behringer xynix 802)
Most all mics work with a guitar amp, you will need a cable with one side a female xlr on one end and a quater inch on the other, plug the female end into the mic and the quater inch into your amp, dont use distortion on ur amp, clean channel is what u need hope this helps!
NO NO NO! i just started learning myself about a month ago.. and realisticly if you wanna start using fx and distortion you need the mixer board and a real pa. i used my mic into my guitar amp and its shit. I record into my looper and i hear all sorts of feedback. but for fun do try it. also depends on your mic

You don't need to worry about it being turned off when there's no power cable plugged into the active speaker.
