For me, Teena Marie and that powerful soulful voice has made many New Orleans house parties the place to be, as well as Saturday summers on the lake front in New Orleans the place to be, not to mention Sunday summer mornings in City Park the place to be, and she has certainly made Essence Music Festival in Orleans the place to be. Thank you Lady T for making those places to be that mush more special to me, you will certainly be missed; From a fan in New Orleans.

Teena Marie was my youth. We would all sit in my friends living room, put on Teena and for hours we would take turns singing her songs while eating homemade fries. Wish I could go back to those days, didn't know how precious they were cause I was too busy complaining about how I couldn't wait until I grew up. Silly me. Love you and your music Lady T.

You are definitely rite! The woman took her poems and made songs out of them.She was imaginative and creative.This gave her an edge over allot of artist because she could go more places.Another good song to listen to is "Dear Lover" where this is blatantly displayed.
