stupid Sony PS3/PS2/PS1/Xbox360 that has a short period of time giving you a problem like their stupid 3rl /Ylod/ disc not spinning problem and overheating!! this system is a bullshit.. and it just allows you to play just for two to 3hrs.. if you play them for 4 to 5hrs then you got this problems.. i have a bad experience from this consoles starting from the ps1.. yeah not all console are like this but believe me it will not long last!! i rather go for the PC!!
I never bought a console at launch, especially a Sony console, because they always charge you out the ass for their consoles. Ive had my PS3 slim almost 2 years now and i paid $300.
same with the xbox arcade's they can break so easily, that was my first xbox i had it for 10 months it got the disc unreadable thing. So I got a new one and it has served me well for 4 years. although my PS3 hasn't broke and it's going on a year that I had it so yeah
yes i had all of them and they all went to shit but my ps3 stop playing the way yours did and i went throw 3 ps3 then they gave me the slim now its working good
I would never really buy a game console as soon as it comes out. Everyone has come to realize that systems are not in the best condition and that they need to have time to fix all the bugs and stuff so gamers dont have to buy a whole new system. But by now they should have solved this problem by now...
i have always hated psx. the system had AWFUL pixelated graphics. also i was never a fan of moving parts based systems. those old NES decks from 1985 work perfectly today. heck even the old ataris from the early 80s work fine. most of the new decks like ps3 and xbox break in a few years. what a joke
Never had a problem with the first generation PS2, matter of fact my PS2 is still alive and kicking, but lately my PS2 is taking longer times to read discs. My experience with the PS3 hasn't been great, I had to send in my PS3 to Sony because the blu-ray laser crapped out, four months later after the first incident I had to send it to Sony again because the blu-ray laser crapped out AGAIN and i'm like fucking hell, luckily my PS3 was still under warranty. Then about a year later YLOD. F U Sony
ive never had a problem for the ps2 but the ps3 that my older brother owns crapped out on him, like the ps3 disc and blueray games not working so he replaced it with the ps3 slim. but i still have my nintendo consoles like GBA, GBASP, DS lite, DSi, wii and GC, and 3DS. im still a nintendo fanboy. and i own 1 Xbox 360( not the black one)
Thats the reason I stay with Nintendo. Am I a fanboy? No, for me Nintendo's systems have good quality and Sega isn't any different. My NES would still work if I would own it today because it worked always as long I had it.. I got it 2 years before I was even born and sold it 4 years ago (I am 21 now). Now you can calculate how long it worked. I still have my SNES and it works like a champ. :D
i beg to differ the ps3 has the best blue ray for teh price to date........... its like the 7th best blue ray you can get my ps3 is launch date old works just fine!
33% failure rare ATLEAST Some say it was as high as 54%
My 360 crapped out on me right when Mass Effect 2 came out. I'd never been so pissed in my fucking life. To add insult to injury my warranty had expired. I just went out and bought a new 360 Arcade and just used the HD from my old 360.
oddly enough I bought my PS2 on launch and it's running like brand new 11 years later!
i agree 100% about sony the spinning thing in ps1 that held the disc was such a piece of shit lmao i went thru 3 ps1s cuz of that funny thing is my nes snes genesis saturn and 64 still work amazingly
my 1st generation of ps1 still works,my ps2 does not read blue disc anymore it makes like grinding noises i tried to play tekken tag and all i heard was the grinding noises
My first PS1, which is one from launch, died after a few months. the 2nd one lasted longer. Then the 3rd lasted til I gave it away and got a ps2. I think that lasted almost all the way up until about the time we were planning on getting a ps3. Wouldn't play certain games. Still got the same PS3 but as you know, me n katie had to fix it twice ourselves. Only other system I had problems with was the 8-bit NES. Went through a few of those. At the time the best advice was to blow on the games.
the front loading nes was a mess in general as far as overall design goes. especially when compared to the famicom which is the japanese nes, its a top loader like the snes. though nintendo did good with the top loading nes but it came out whenever snes had been out so people didnt give much of a shit sadly.
It's kinda funny. I have owned nes, sega genesis, playstation 1. Now i currently own a psp, ps2 and ps3. The only things went down were sega genesis, 2 times, 2 consoles :D the only problem i had was with genesis :)
The problems are due to processors running hot, and a TON of cheap hardware crammed into an area too small to contain it all. Long live the old cart based consoles.
Faulty systems are made on purpose, companies (not only game companies) have the ridiculous ideal of keep selling, if their sales drop cuz "everyone" already has a system in their homes, they see that as a bad thing, for them any product with a lifespan must keep selling during that lifespan, is stupid but true, like trying to have every single person in the world to buy yout product, almost impossible on the entertainment sector at least.
"yesterday in a small suburban home a cat has been found dead, with a sony ps3 gaming console in police custody. According to eye witness reports, the ps3 had some sort of malfunction and proceeded to jump on top of the cat, bind it with its power cords, and throw it into a blender which was spinning at 3000 rpm. The cat was only identified by its collar, with the name 'snickerdoodle' almost etched off. This is Bill Redford for CNN, reporting"
I have a big problem with sony right now....I went out bought the first dmc, killer 7 and God of War 1 and 2 for cheap just to go home and find out my ps2 that I been taking care of and making sure no one breaks it, stopped working -_- just doesn't let me use controllers, so I am forced to open it up.... but my n64 dropped over 100 times still works perfectly...so wtf sony?
yeah i had been holding onto it for awhile and said fuck it i'll just randomly use it. ive got a gajillion game fonts on my computer since i started making these videos
I still have a working colecovision & atari 2600 from the 70's and a snes & genesis from the 90's. alot of my modern consoles sinces 2002 have quit or needed reapair. They don't make them like the did in the old days of gaming. I know graphics and gameplay are better but the consoles die.
I wonder what is going on with modern consoles. I bought a ps2 and it died 3 months later and I never bought another sony gaming console until ps3 and it quit reading all disks but I could still play downloaded games. I have had a 360 quit twice and a wii be repaired once. but my colecovision & atari 2600 from the 70's hasn't quit, or my genesis and snes from the 90's hasn't quit. they don
I've owned my PS2 for a while now and it never broke, but I can't say the same for my PSP or PS3. My PS3 has got the YLOD for a while now, and it's going to take a while for it to come back.
Same think happened to me last Christmas, AOS, do you think Sony are trying to fuck with the backwards compatible PS3's via firmware to retcon them out of existence?
And yeah my launch PS1 was just as much of a pussy, I think they built it extremely mediocre just so they could afford to distribute it cheaper than the Saturn (E3 '95 anyone?). I will come to the PS2's defense though, people seemed to think their own incompetent maintenance = hardware problems.

The only thing i can think of with Nintendo is the Nes, *Put game in* *Screen is blue* *take game out and blow on it* *Now Red Screen" *Rage* *repeat and get multicolored screens* I've had errors with alot of consoles but none broke as much as Xbox360... 3 Xbox Pro and 2 Xbox Elites Red Ringed on me. the cause is the weather where i live is always so hot. the console overheating causes Red Ring.
The only problem I ever had was with the PS2, the 'eye' got messed up and just couldn't load any discs and I burned through two PS2 consoles, I have my third and still running great, I just don't see myself getting a PS3 if they have that much of a problem with its YLOD, hell I'll stick with my Wii, get online with it and still make the most of what I got in my collection
