AoC is cool. Lots of realism. Ability to kill guildys (I hate), fish jump out of the river, birds cast shadows, swaying grass/trees.... On and on. Nice virtual reality nearly... For once.
Yes there is quests. The feature list is twice as long as in any other game ever created. Darkfall will if they deliver be the gaming Messiah. There is a sticky on the Darkfall website where you can read up on all features known. Get some coffee before cause its a long one.=)
They've upgraded the graphics engine for Darkfall. Notice, this is a 2006 video. They've redone everything a few times already, and I think it's safe to say the graphics are around AoC's quality.

If Darkfall ever comes ou it'll not be successful. It won't even compete towards Age of Conan, War,WoW expansion and including other MMORPG'S on the horizon. Darkfall could've been a very successful game, but they decided to add to many stuff which they still can't promise back in 03-04
ya, but you could steal back equipment when you see someone gathering wood or mining and get some armor. or if you lack a head piece and your in battle. just take one off a dead opponent. or maybe go and steal or buy one from the npc vendor
One thing i think will be neat about this game in the wars, besides mount battles, is that in this game you drop everything when you die and can be looted, so armies will be supplied with mass produced gear, so you'd probably actually loot everyones corpse after the battle and walk away with hefty spoils to fill your armory, i totally believe a guild could get snuffed out because lack of equipment.
WoW has way to many bugs in it this game looks sweet i just hope it doesn't have that many bugs , plus in WoW there is way way to many overpowering chars and not enough fps. if there is any at all.

Doesnt bring anything new? name 3 games that allow complete freedom over the landscape, allows you to buy houses, chop wood, mine and even build custom ships you could even have a bounty on your head and have bounty hunters track you down to your tomb. You can even make your own fortress on a deserted island and become pirates
Age of Conan, Vanguard:Saga of heroes, and Eeverquest 1-2, Eve online, Runescape, SwG, and WoW etc.
Darkfall doesn't bring anything new to the MMORPG industries because they're a lot of games that have done that. You should check out Age of Conan it looks very promising, and successful. In an exp they'll add House and ships, but they're have all those things you've mention.
Darkfall has no classes, and is entirely skill based. It also doesn't have target lockon and cycling, as you actually have to fight in real time ala Oblivion. Darkfall also has a player run economy with cities that can be controlled by the player and taken over by attackers with siege weapons. Kingsdoms can be run by players. It's entirely pvp. It amy not be innovative, but it's a hell of a lot better than the popular MMO's out right now.
AoC doesn't have ship-building, fighting from ships, city-building, city-sieges, player-customisable and craftable armour & weaps... PVE AI in AoC is the same dumb AI we've seen time and time again, AoC is still at heart a PVE game... there are many new and differentiating features in darkfall -- you can essentially do and make pretty much whatever you like. myself, DF has all the stuff i could hope for in a MMO, and i'm dying to see it.
Indeed. and speaking of which. The only game I can think of that has remotely any close content to what this game is packing is the first Ultima Online, where you were free to do completely anything.
I just think the whole notion of free loot brings me back to the good ole UO days... so yeah I can't wait to pick this game up

AoC and Shadowbane does NOT have ship building or Shiop comabt, sorry.
Some of these games have pvp siege warfare, but (except Shadowbane) that only happens in designated pvp zones. In DF u can make a city anywhere and take over ANY city. + NO OTHER MMORPGS IN THE WORLD features full looting anymore. Those "minor changes" means a COMPLETLY different gaming experience. Back to UO Pre T for those of us that remember.

Understand that the reason why the graphics are bad compared to games like AOC and Aeon is because this game is being made to hold up thousands of single people on one individual server without lag.

WAR RvR Vs World of Warcraft Vs Darkfall. But I guess Warhammer Online and Darkfall will be the same. Since Warhammer doesn't rely on Epic loot. Skill will be based on class knowledge, rather than 100+ to Supermanarmorofdestruction and Weapon of 1,000,000 fullbladedstrengthtokillyou.
Most MMO's are in development for a long time, most longer. Their problem was early advertising. You can't keep a game hyped for more than 6 months easily.
This is your typical great concept destroyed by poor planning & lack of developers. I use to actually support this game but I've totally lost hope & for all the time thats past it doesn't even look that impressive.

PVE AI in AoC is the same dumb AI we've seen time and time again, AoC is still at heart a PVE game... there are many new and differentiating features in darkfall -- you can essentially do and make pretty much whatever you like. myself, DF has all the stuff i could hope for in a MMO, and i'm dying to see it.

Indeed. and speaking of which. The only game I can think of that has remotely any close content to what this game is packing is the first Ultima Online, where you were free to do completely anything.
I just think the whole notion of free loot brings me back to the good ole UO days... so yeah I can't wait to pick this game up

first of all this game is FPS like Oblivion and you can construct cities wage huge wars dont really see whats alike with this game and wow especially it has parts that every MMORPG has but it has new things too

AoC and Shadowbane does NOT have ship building or Shiop comabt, sorry.
Some of these games have pvp siege warfare, but (except Shadowbane) that only happens in designated pvp zones. In DF u can make a city anywhere and take over ANY city. + NO OTHER MMORPGS IN THE WORLD features full looting anymore. Those "minor changes" means a COMPLETLY different gaming experience. Back to UO Pre T for those of us that remember.

Don't criticize the graphics while I can't say much due to the NDA the game play so far in darkfall is amazing. Understand that the reason why the graphics are bad compared to games like AOC and Aeon is because this game is being made to hold up thousands of single people on one individual server without lag.

did u guys know that u can hire npc's (hirelings) to do whatever u want, for example if u are a normal and alone knight u can be killing on one side of the map wile your npc is fishing on the other or if u have a kingdom u can hire farmers, smiths, merchands, guards, builders whatever u can get your own batallion of hirelings or if you are a simple knight he can be your bodyguard or simply carry your loot

WAR RvR Vs World of Warcraft Vs Darkfall. But I guess Warhammer Online and Darkfall will be the same. Since Warhammer doesn't rely on Epic loot. Skill will be based on class knowledge, rather than 100+ to Supermanarmorofdestruction and Weapon of 1,000,000 fullbladedstrengthtokillyou.

Most MMO's are in development for a long time, most longer. Their problem was early advertising. You can't keep a game hyped for more than 6 months easily.
