i apologize for my ignorance but i must ask, how can someone play like that? classes? self taught? Im trying to learn by myself(because I cant afford classes), and well youtube has been somewhat helpful, I bet I can learn how to play the same song like her(video owner) but it does not mean I know how to play piano, just mimicking, any tips as what needs to be learned as to be able to play any song by hearing? I would really appreciate it. Thank you ppl :D

@pzm87 I would start learning basic theory and listening to lots and lots of music. It takes a lot of time to learn anything by ear and tons of practice. The next time you listen to a song, instead of listening to the words listen to the rhythm, the beats and each note to see how it's played. You'll get better over time :)

@pzm87 Well for starters i believe that lessons are essential to playing the piano, but you could still play by ear...but thats not as easy as some portray it to be. You have to have the ear for it, otherwise its not much help. you have to have some knowledge to be able to find the chords behind the melody. I beckon you to get lessons because they are worth the cost, and maybe see if your participating teacher can do split lessons for two people with split cost : )
