@oOADROOo Can I do this: 1.) Backup on 32-bit windows 2.) upgrade to 64-bit windows 3.) restore everything from my 32-bit windows files, programs e.t.c?
no im just asking for like how u put windows 7 on top of windows xp like what did u do, did u put a partition for windows 7 before putting it back or...?
@MrBallerh I didn't create a partition, i used a separate hard disk which the Windows 7 was backed up. You can create a partition and then make a W7 image on that but it takes a long time when you want to restore W7
hey i having a problem here i accidently made all of my files internet explorer because of that STUPID "OPEN WITH"!!! i did not create a backup so how can i reatore my files??? PLZZZ reply BACK PLZ i need help about it
Great video, hope you don't mind me saying this but how your video started off would be a little confusing for the none-techy people. You didn't explain that you were restoring your system from an image that you created.
sorry didn't explain well enough, I have ALREADY upgraded from basic to Ultimate off of my computer, so I didn't buy from a store, it was just upgraded through windows. So I do have back up and restore I'm just asking if I make a back up image and get a brand new hard drive would I just insert the disk after I have assembled the new hard drive and it will detect whats on the disk and install it? Or do I have to insert the disk my computer came with then insert the back up disk?
i plan on getting a new hard drive soon, so if i have upgraded to windows 7 ultimate from basic this will still work? and how would i go about doing it from a brand new drive?
I have a problem.. i did the system restore for windows 7 and after that... my laptop runs smoother than b4, my issue is that everytime i turn my laptop on the system restore pop ups saying that my laptop has been restored to this date and time... i was wondering how to turn that off, cuz now it always shows everytime i turn on my laptop.... ty and i appreciate ur reply and the time u invested for me... thank u
Can you change the size of the partitions somewhere in this process? Can you make the partition of the main system files and windows smaller? (C: Drive)
Hi I Upgraded to Windows 7 through the student promotion. I never got a CD i just downloaded the upgrade and installed it on my computer and i got windows 7. Now I would like to delete everything on my computer basically restore it to factory settings with windows 7. I have backed up all my files and personal stuff on an external hard drive. How do i go about restoring my computer without having a windows 7 cd ??
i just bought my hp pavillion pc about 3 weeks ago and it didnt come with a cd. i heard that they dont issue cd'z anymore in order to cut down on piracy
what cd r u talkin about?????????????????????? in your part 1 vid you never mentioned anything about a cd. i just backed it up on my external hard drive. so now your tellin me i need a cd?
ure joking right... if u dnt no that u really no but its in the bios threres a cool sight called "Google" that noes much things such as what your asking
hmm is that full windows 7 or the beta its pssin me off i downlaoded beta i have no idea how to install back to xp its cleared my ide, scsi, raid controller drivers so it wont allow xp to be installed
Good Question. I have 1.5T hard disk which is partitioned. I have over 400GB of data in 1 partition and the other is my image of the OS. If I get a nasty spyware on my PC ill just do a Restore point if that fails I back up my downloads onto a spear HD and use my partition to restore my OS and programs.
Where did you hear that? All versions have backup and restore ... you will need Pro or Ult to back up to network drives. All versions will allow you to backup to other USB/DVD or internal drives.
It's Norton ... lol ... what do you expect ... do you remember Norton Utilities? Norton should have sold a book on how to re-install the OS, then write these types of applications.
HAHAH!! That was a misery for a lot of people including me. I didnt know my machines were fucking up because of Norton utilities, I only found out till I stopped using it :D and that Defrag was a joke XD it use to speed up the PC every time I used it but then again it was Norton that made it slow in the first place XD.
Norton dont get me started on that. Seriously one day I am going to find the half wit that came up with that shit and tear him a new asshole. OOh yeah Mr O Thats another 5 stars
You are correct Things, Backup and Restore is limited for Premium only, for backup to a Network Drive, which I think it should be added anyway to Premium. Backup and Restore are in all Win 7 editions.

I totally agree. The good thing is.. its in all versions of windows 7 including the basic version ;D
oOADROo 2 years ago
Does Windows 7 have it where it does incremental backups or do you have to tell it to back up every time.
ibpointless2 2 years ago
No but you do have restore points, which its kind of the same but without needing a HDD
oOADROo 2 years ago
I kind of have a stupid question :)
what do you do when your main hard drive with all the restore points and back ups fails or gets corrupted or you want to move to a bigger hard drive?
Also how much space does this back up thing take up on your main hard drive?
Great video 5 stars :)

Yeah didn't know premium didn't have backup feature, which it should by default. It's not a big deal, can use several free backup software.
blacksteel25 2 years ago
It should had it by default like you said but it hasnt ;( which is a shame. I hate using Norton and some others windows is much easy and simple
