  • I recall seeing Crown of Thorns every Wednesday at the Middle Park Hotel in the early 1990s. Barb Waters very cool on the Fender Telecaster and Shane O'Mara masterly on the strat. Great roots music. Peace.

  • Saw Chris play many a night at Martians cafe with Shannon Bourne some of the best blues ever. Especially The Sky Is Crying, made the hair on my neck stand up!!!! Keep rockin Chris

  • Have played this and his albums so often and he still gives me chills. Whenever I want to illustrate problems with the Australian music industry and how difficult it is for our performers, he is the best illustration I can think of. Someone with this talent shouldn't be a secret, but I agree that he is.

  • Does anyone know how to get a copy of Crowns of Thorns 'Carnival' on Cd? It's in my top 5 albums & I only had it on vinyl. Now that's gone too. HELP, I've tried everything!

  • How good is this dude? Seen him many many times, on the Blues train, Royal Darby, Continental, punters, brilliant guy one of this countries best keep secrets and the way he can play the box too talented, Chris Wilson and The Crown of Thorns music era the best

  • Thank you - I love him and Shane O'Mara. I have all his CDs and wish there were more. I've never seen him do any of the big ballads live - one day, I hope.

  • Living legend - the real deal - pure

  • Saw Chris live at the Continental and was hooked. What a presence! Just goes to show how much dressing up people with much less talent do to trick their fans. This guy is raw and a real rough diamond.

I played the Live@Conti CD during my daughter's birth so it's a very special cd for me.

  • Thanks for this clip. I love him.

  • cool

  • 'm lost for words-thats just amazing!

  • I'm just blown away....I can't say much more than that....To say he was an aussie icon would be an understatement.

  • Chris Wilson is music on a journey.

  • Live at the conti was the first Chris Wilson CD I bought after a friend made me a 'best of' tape including Chris, the weddoes and rebecca's empire etc ... I had just moved into a share house and it was all i ever played ! everyone else hated me. I have some great photos from the mid 90's - is there somewhere you can post them to share ?

  • I just saw Chris last night. He was the first act on supporting Diesel. Phil Para was the other act. Both Phil and Diesel got Chris back out to do a few songs with both of them.

You can put your photos into a slideshow and post it on here as a video. Don't ask me how though, I haven't done it before.

  • Chris!

That night in Prahan.......simply will be etched....on a greyhound bus.....

  • I remember being totally blown away by Chris back in the 80's when he played Punters Club. Great to see him still around, and hear his music again. Wish they would re-release some of his first albums.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • Know what you mean. Chris can sing and blow that harp and Shane is just plain genius. "Live and the Continental Cafe" is an end to end moment of heart stopping beauty for me
