I worked at WVUE back in the early eighties and was lucky to produce some of the stations promos. We had a great team of people back then. These spots were great. They were produced before I got there.
I so remember that "Newsvan" promo. I think there was another one showing home movies of that tourist family in City Park looking for some of that "mardi grass."

This was when WVUE was an ABC affiliate until 1996.

Believe they were done by a company out of Philadelphia area called New York Productions. Great stuff.
