Yes, you should. They're like a relay, because you connect 6 volts or whatever you want to it and a 0.3 volts steering signal. If that last signal is given, a current can go trough the transistor. You can find a relay scheme on google.

its one of those clocks with the vibrator u put under ur pillow, except instead of plugging that into the back, i took the same plug from something else and put it on the terminals of the relay, so u can plug that in instead. then that trips the battery and so on

OK, thanks for your reply. I just modified my alarm clock. I searched for the pin configuration of the integrated circuit and found out which pin was for the alarm. Now I soldered some wires to it and it works. Now I only have to order a relais and some horns and then it's done.

nice. the easiest thing would probably have been to take the wires from the alarm speaker and hook that into the relay in order to avoid lookin around on the circuit board, but thats good to hear u got everything goin :D

There only goes 0.3 volts to the speaker, so that's not enough to power a relay. (sorry for my English, I'm from Holland)

OK. I bought a 12 v relais and tested it on my power supply and it works on 8 volts, but when I solder it to the wires of the alarm clock (also 8 volts) it doesn't go far enough to switch it. I think the alarm clock has too little amps.

it might be possible to use a capacitor that increases the voltage some more, though that might not work. You may want to check to see if there are smaller application relays if you got bigger ones. I used a GM car horn relay i bought off of amazon

In case anyone doesn't appreciate how loud this is, a REALLY loud concert is generally between 109 to 112 dB, and this (simply because I know how people are about not reading the info box) is 115 dB. That could probably wake the dead.
