Mr the gangsta! Contrary to what you think, playing slow is a huge advantage, it helps developing technique and sensitivity. Also for people like me who start off this song, it is a nice gift that the piano man did to us, to play slow!
You play very well. I just completed this piece not too long ago. I've started doing random pieces myself since I don't really like some of the material from this book (like this piece). And I agree that you should be able to try the pieces from the back of the book. I've done so myself!
Keep up the good work, I am a music teacher and I am so impressed with how you have improved over the last year or so. I think you are more than ready to start trying more challenging peices, why dont you try looking at some of the peices in the back of book 3 they are challenging but I think you are more then capable of playing them!!!
I agree on both counts... I've been following you for a while, since I was doing Alfred 2 while you were doing it, and you've improved a lot! But I found Alfred 3 to be really unhelpful; there isn't much in the way of more advanced technique compared to book 2. Again, I agree with Midnightsas that you are ready to tackle more advanced pieces, like those in the back of the book. I'll also suggest Chopin prelude in B minor (Op. 28, no 6) since that's the first piece I did outside Alfred. :)
Agree, book 3 I think is more like keep us partice with harder songs. I haven't go through all the book yet but I think for more advance skills, we should either go for some harder books
Thanks for watching my videos ! :) I am learning grade 4 piano exam at the moment, they are lot harder than the songs in this book, although I really want to learn the last few songs in book 3, especially moonlight sonata
Thank you for posting your videos. I started around when you did back in january of 2008 and i also have reached the 3 rd book. Yes the third book is very easy, but i thought book 2 was easy as well. Books are very good for learning because all of the songs are relatively easy but still help develop skill. Thank you for posting videps since i do not go to music school i do not always know if i am playing something as intended.
Well complete this one to now !
loveley song isn't ?
