@wilcoxr62 Congratulations from me too! You are one lucky son-of-a-gun. I dream of owning this car every time I watch the video. Swore I'd buy it if I won the lottery. I even considered trading my '66 427 Sting Ray for it. Hope you all enjoy your ride. Be sure to post some videos of the car!
@wilcoxr62 Mine is a '66 coupe. Nassau Blue w/ dark blue leather interior. It's an original 427/450 horse car. Yeah, I know it's supposed to be a 425 horse. According to Nolan Adams, early production big block Corvettes were rated 450. It's not matching numbers. Actually a '67 block. Blueprinted, balanced, aluminum heads, roller cam (so I don't have to adjust the solid lifters), etc. You've got one heck of a car there so take good care of it.
@DmanDipper Why not? These cars were built that way in the 60s' , so successful at racing that they were outlawed for a time, then brought back due to public demand. This is a BAD BAD machine.
@DmanDipper actually some were altered wheelbase cars from the factory as because these already were low low low production have to be a factory backed racer to have the ability to buy em cars! there are some plymouths and chevy novas like this around.
I wonder also about running stacks on the street, especially i Texas where you might encounter more than avaerage amounts of abrasive dust in the air. I wonder also about the close tolerance of the stacks to the opening in the hood. Doesn't the torqueing of the motor in the mounts make the stacks contact the edge of the hole in the hood? Just wondering..
I love 3:49 and after....cruising at like 30mph, and when he hits the gas it just flies past the camera! Beautiful. So 528 isn't the original displacement? Was it originally the stock 426? And is this an original AF/X car, or is this a modern recreation? I love it, though I don't suppose driving around with open velocity stacks all day can be very good for the engine =/ I just love to think of the expression on the Honda drivers faces when that thing passes them though!
I raced a 66 coronet for quite a while, Loved the body style. even better than the 67. At first I thought the part about being ELECTRONIC fuel injection was in jest but then I saw the fuel rail, I'll be damned, EFI AND stacks! Sweet. I've got an Enderle hat, mechianical FI. WOT or nothing, no in between. The car is in beautiful shape. I'm curious what it runs at the track. Someone asked about pump gas, I'll bet it has about 9.5:1 compression ratio, yep pump gas. Aluminum Hemi? too cool!
lol where's the radio? owner says radio? oh its there right in front of you. kid looks around... i dont see it? owner rev's up the ol' hemi i said right in front of you! lol
@portugal73737 The '68/9 Coronets ARE beautiful, but altered wheelbase cars were long gone by then, replaced by the floppers that Mercury introduced in late '66. The AF/X cars are much cooler, in my opinion.

@samspace81 i just dont like the altered style, it ruins the look of a car but thats my opinion if you like it thats all that counts

Solid lifters I hear? Mmmm love me them Mopars, nothing could compete from 55-74 and same is true with the new generation. Long Live the Hemi.
