Pretty good version of the first hard rock song I ever fell for, back in '74. Def Lep actually do better covers than most. This version shows the rhythm is similar to Born to be Wild.
Hey, this is a cool slide show. I recently put something together very similar. Its a song I wrote about 1 year ago and decided to upload it. It's "Play'n Rock'n Roll" by me, Curtis Mitchell. The song has s 2 minute guitar solo. Check it out.
There was a moment there up until about 1:40 where you could see an alphabetical pattern emerging. Which was f'ing cool and shoulda' continued throughout.
Def Leppard's cover is Joe Elliott's homage to Mott's classic. It's not bad, but not a patch on the original. But you could be forgiven for mistaking the lead guitar solo for Ariel Bender. The collage of rockers old and new provides a good backdrop, but you really should have included Mott themselves, and Ian Hunter, one of the greatest, but sadly most underrated songwriters this country has ever produced!
Great slide show.........you got it all........including the legend that still writes music and tours every year ! Of course he not in the so called rocking roll hall of fame the GREAT ALICE COOPER!!!
Not a bad perfomance of the song, BUT, you left out pics of two VERY influential bands: MOTT THE HOOPLE! THEY are the originators of the song, and The Sex Pistols, probably THE most ground breaking band in history, next to the Beatles. Couldn't you at least put a photo of Ian Hunter, who wrote this classic????!!!!
Could someone please write the names of all artists with the video times? I know it is a lot of work, but it could be usefull for ignorant people like me :).
By the way I love Rock music and I do know most of the people in the video, but not all.
That would be Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship & Starship fame. Definitely there for her work with Airplane haha. Unfortunately she is at the middle of the video so she is the picture youtube uses. Definitely not on there for "We Built This City"
what!this song has all the energy it need's,and that's alot!if you think def leppard's even an ounce of lifeless,u don't know a thing about them.watch some of there music videos like armageddon it,and pour some sugar on me.if you think that's life less than i suppose i'm tone def,and i highly doubt it.
Great video with great artists! One thing missing though. That's a Mott the Hoople song covered by Def Lep, but no pictures of Mott the Hoople in your video.

Good job nice touch putting Johnny Cash in there.

Damn good montage Doug! I would have added Mott The Hoople (it is their song after all!), The Kinks, and Iggy Pop.

Def Leppard's lifeless, wimpy version of Mott classic - not one once of energy in this cover.

Like Joe Elliott I am a big fan of Mott The Hoople but atill reckon this is a good cover. That's Ian Hunter's voice on the intro too isn't it?

Despite that omission, still a great job you did.
