@TheScrewed0ver It's not about a person. he tells the whole story in an interview about getting turned on by Bob Dylan while they were playing in NYC. Up till then the Beatles had only partaken in speed and downers and alcohol. Bob came to an after show party and Paul offered Bob a "purple heart" (speed/barbituate pill) and Bob said "I have something much better....". After the experience he wrote a "love song" to the weed. It's really all true.
