@TheJohnny990 They were big because of Dookie. Warning had a few political songs, but not on the scale of American Idiot (I think thats what your referring too). American Idiot I think (in my personal opinion) got big because they were one of the few big name bands that did political songs post 9/11 and compared to most of the stuff on the charts, was refreshing. If political music made you famous, the majority of the punk scene would be billionaires
