  • Kerry, You're are a Good Man!

  • Sorry to hear about this. Growing old is NOT for sissies.

  • OK then....you can go enjoy life and focus on what is inside of yourself and not others now that that has been taken off of your chest.

  • @BBQFanNo1 You might want to re-post this - someone has flagged this post as spam.

  • Time to tell the truth about who did and who didn't write the song, Mr. Livgren. The truth shall set you free. How strong is your faith - really?

  • @timetobetruthful Let the EGO go...this is not appropriate.

  • @minjoem You may think it's not appropriate...that's your opinion. My opinion (not my ego, by the way - I did not write the song either) is that it's more than appropriate when Mr. Livgren is adding more lies to support the original. Might that be EGO? "Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive." I stand by it - the truth shall set you free.

  • @BBQFanNo1 FYI: someone keeps flagging your comments as spam. Aside from that, I find it interesting that you have gone from saying what you believe to be true regarding stolen intellectual property, to preaching that we don't have the right to speak the truth we know. How many people are you?

Good luck with not making judgements about other people...it's what we human beings do. If you think you don't, you're kidding yourself. It's automatic and relentless.

  • Brother Kerry, I was searhing the I-net to find your Seeds of Change CD and learned of your stroke. That was not good news, but I am happy that you are recovering well and am in agreement with The Word of God and Jesus's promises for healing to manifest in your body. You and the music and talents the Lord has given to you have blessed me so much since my youth. I was so elated when you became a Christian and brother in Christ. I almost met you at an AD concert in a school in IL. We shall meet!:)

  • First time to hear of this, may God heal you completely!

  • I'm not an overly religious person, but I belive in God and the power of prayer....God really came through for Kerry, if it wasnt for Him, Kerry wouldnt be around today let alone still making music.

  • Appreciate your faith Kerry and we always will have the great memories of your concerts! You are great light for all to see! Thanks from Southern Illiniois!

  • Kerry ... you are showing us all how to go through the various chapters of life with God's Grace and our Faith intact ... always remember that whatever we lose on Earth, we gain multiplied times over when we get to Heaven. I appreciate you so very much!

  • He doesn't care if he ever plays again? That is a true Christian!

    GOD bless.

  • Great clip displaying amazing acceptance and character on the part of Kerry Livgren. He looks quite well following a pretty severe left brain stroke. God bless him.

  • Thanks for this video! Very good testimony.

  • God Bless you Kerry and thank you for all the wonderful music.

  • This is testimony to all the words that you wrote in the songs, every once in a while God gives us the chance to make manifest our words into walking, and brother Kerry, you do walk your talk in accepting that God did allow this for His Greater Good, I have seen you play on Knowwhere Like Home last year...He gave so much of it back to you, but if He had not, he knows he has the faithful one He loves in your heart.. May God continue to bless your Rock that is His...(:

  • I used to own Kerry's book Seeds Of Change years ago but lost it. Man, I would love to re read it.

  • Great musician...even better human being! God bless you Kerry!

  • didnt realize it was uploading sorry folks. This is my first time commenting

  • i bought my first Kansas album in I guess it was 1975. I was on a rack of dicontinued albums.Back in those days they would clip the corner of the album cover so it would be taken off the shelves of the main music stores.Te cover picture really caught my eye. When i played it the music blew me away I had the honor to shake Kerry Livgrens hand during the late70s early 80s when they played Philly.

  • Why do people have to be so mean? Honestly! Kerry you have been an inspiration to me my whole life! Love your music and I am so thrilled that you are ok and my brother! You say there is no God, how do you know? What if your wrong?

  • I wouldn't be surprised if he forced himself to play right handed. He has options but I have a feeling he is going to stop thinking of playing and devote his life to full time ministery.Thank you Kerry my good friend, even though we out here in Utubeland never met you,we feel that we know you.I'm not religious, but I will always think of you and pray for whatever God has in store for you next.Carry on my Wayward Friend !

  • I sorry to tell you brother Kerry ,but GOD DIDN'T cause you to have a stroke .Satan came to kill ,still and destroy ,but Jesus came to give us LIFE and LIFE more abundantly

  • @iamkansas1 You need to look up Dr. Barbara Theiring

  • What a powerful and amazing testimony! As always, Kerry continues to lead by example; specifically, 1 Thessalonians 5:17-19 comes to mind:

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

I pray that God will richly bless Kerry, his wife, and their family for their faithfulness.

  • Our God is a awesome God. Kerrry seems to have the providence of God in place

inspite of troubles , what a testimony .Don't blow this off if you aren't a believer .

The mans a real man he is not a whiner . Great song writer too.

May the Lord bless Kerry and family .

  • They must have edited out the part where they explain why God gave him a clot.

  • As a long time Kansas fan and an even bigger Kerry fan, it is great to see him up and about as he continues to recover from the stroke. May God finish the healing that He has begun.

  • I've never believed in Kerry's various religious obsessions over the years (whether it's the deified Jesus of Nazareth or Hinduism) but we are all human beings first, and I wish him well.

  • Good to see Kerry up and doin' well. He will find a way to exercise his muse and give humankind more of his gift. Praise the Lord and that no less from a non-believer.

  • I feel with you sister. That must have been very, very hard. praying.

  • May the Lord Bless and Protect US and Heal In Jesus Name. Amen and Amen

    Luke 6:19

-and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all.

    Luke 9:6

So they set out and went from village to village, preaching the gospel and healing people everywhere.

    Acts 3:16

By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.

  • Glad to see your doing great.

  • Christians are delusional liars as are all religious people. Life is easy to understand through simple observation. 1. We don't exist 2. We are born 3. We live 4. We die 5. We don't exist. All the wishful thinking will not change reality. It doesn't matter how many times a lie is repeated and by how many people it is repeated by it will never become true. If you like to believe in lies and repeat the lies you have been told that's fine but be honest and say that is what you are doing.

  • @temdatli hey dude, i'm not as Christian as Kerry, but even so, i don' go around judging. it's not just Christian to keep mindless drivel like yours to yourself, it's just plain good sense. people like me get offended when athieist morons take the stage in an inappropriate place the same as when Christians do it. so read carefully. fuck off. and just in case the wonderful Mr. Livgren

is on the right track, i suggest you learn to play accordion, because there's one waiting for you in hell.

  • Comment removed

  • @temdatli And so what exactly is it that you are saying Kerry is lying about here?

  • @temdatli That's really a good point. Either Jesus was a liar, lord or lunatic. Historically his existence is irrefutable unless you want to be intellectually dishonest.

If you don't then you owe it to yourself to find out if the bible is true and what Jesus said and meant. If the bible is true then you would be be delusional in thinking that the promises of life eternal or hell eternal didn't include yourself. If you can't even describe the message of the bible then you are fooling your self.

  • Jesus killed my mother and my uncle too. They were both good Christians, in fact my uncle devoted his life to it and made Kerry Livgren look like a Satanist in comparison, but people prayed to Jesus after they both had heart failure (10 years apart), and Jesus let them die. Damn you Jesus, you bastard!

  • Even if he can't play, Kerry should still be able to write compositions, right?

  • Thanks so much for posting this! I really appreciate the update. I've long admired Kerry's phenomenal talent and was devastated to learn of his trial. But with God's awesome power may Kerry fully recover! :)

  • I can say that everything I've done musically in my life, I have always compared myself to Kerry as a musician, and I have always fallen completly short! I will always strive to better myself as a musician, but even more so to compare myself to him as a man who loves God! I pray I can compare, and not come up short! Thank you Jesus, for giving us Kerry Livgren!

  • GOD Bless You. This Man has so touched my life as a musician...could not begin to reapay this debt.

  • God bless Kerry!

  • Praise God & bless you, Kerry- you're a talanted musician and writer- followed you since your KANSAS days. Strokes are so devious & silent killers- my mom has had two but still here thanks to Jesus!

  • @gemini16th I didn't realize hispanic doctors existed.

  • Wow!!! Now I know why 'Dust In The Wind always spaoke to me so strongly my whole life...though it was the sentiements of a lost soul it always seemed to be the sentiments of someone that God was getting through to and pricking the heart of. And that is why I always thought that in another place and time, I might havr wrote the song myself. I could so relate to it.Guess kerry was is one of God's elect and therefore always was. This was something to see and the other video testimonies of his also.

  • Good job Kerry!

  • Did not know this was on You Tube!...Thanks, TheFront1984. Love the "shed/studio" remark! HA! What an example of how Christ can put thankfulness is a heart that could easily be defeated through an experience like this. Wow to his music...and double Wow to his testimony! God bless Kerry , Vicci and family!

  • God Bless you brother!

  • Glad you are being healed Kerry, I've always loved your songs and your "guitaristry"... your music has been a real inspiration so many times in my life.

    I'm praying for that hand.

  • Wow! What a fighter! And just what woke her up at 4:00 AM!!! Saved his life to give his testimony another day.

  • kerry,

Best in your recovery; through your art, you're immortal.

  • @blewsrose - nah, through CHRIST he's immortal.

  • Kerry, we love you. Carry on my homeward brother. Faith Hope and Love!

  • quit your religious debating,,good grief...do u people ever quit....get a grip...u arent serving any God i know....and yes i believe...

  • I suppose you all think that God didn't smite the people of Egypt or any of the other nations with disease or calamity like the Scriptures speak of? Come on, you're taking his one comment too far. However, to be a bit more understanding, read Scripture and you may find more than you already know. God is the focal point here. Love.

  • We all love Kerry... Unfortunate that he's labouring under the illusion that the God of music and that seeks true worshippers, did this to him!

I thought this type of erroneous thinking had all but vanished in the light of God's amazing goodness.

Thank God for life, strength, humility, mercy and continuing opportunity to serve him daily, but please don't accuse Him of these types of insidious acts.

  • God, this is one of your exceptional souls !!!! Your will be done, of course, but we ask that you find a beautiful reason to find whatever this soldier of yours needs or wants.

  • komodoman- not being rude or anything, but I think you're reading too much into that statement. That in itself could be odd. Kerry is a christian and that is that. He does not consider himself religious.

  • Kerry's one of the world's greatest songwriters ever - but he's thankful God gave him the stroke, I think that's an odd thing to say... God doesn't hand out strokes, they just happen... I'm glad I'm not religious, this fanatism (I know they call it love/faith) is scary. :-/

  • WOW. Im glad he is as well as he is, considering what he went thru. Nice to see him with the same wife from the 70's as well.

  • We are all blessed to have him and his talent touch all our lives and effect our lives so greatly. God Bless you Kerry. At least he can still do other things with his music besides play it. Remember Beathoven went deaf and produced notable works even after losing his hearing.

  • If you took the top 10 list of last years music, and combined ALLL of the so called talent, it would amount to just a fraction of what Kerry gave us through his life. God Bless You Kerry !

  • It sounds like he is leaving it in Gods hands. Kerry knows that God sees the WHOLE picture of our lives. but his children only see a little at a time. Kerry has faith the wait and see what comes next.Maybe he will help stroke victims now.

  • It's great to see Kerry back, recovering from his stroke, but like Natalia I'm also a bit concerned about him thanking god for taking his ability to play. I know how spiritual he is and that he always accepts what he thinks to be meant to happen, but that such an amazing musician really thanks god for it seems kinda weird to me... However, great to see him back :-)

    Michael.

  • Hmmm.... I don't know what to say about this. I'm neither completely happy or sad. Of course it's great that Kerry's OK after all, but I'm still concerned about other things too. I also find it very weird of him to have as much faith in God as to thank him for "giving" him the stroke, and how this faith replaced his desire to play music again - something that he can't do anymore.

  • I mean, I'm happy for him, but it's still sad that this great musician has been stopped from playing, and that he thanks God for that!

  • I would really like to know what kind of drugs it takes for people to accept everything that happens (good or bad) as manifestations of their (no one else's God though, obviously) God's "love." "Thank you, for not killing me off." How is God being loving and generous by giving someone a stroke and then just not bothering to finish the job? Why are these people so self-absorbed as to think that their talking to air has in any way effected his health?

  • Don't get me wrong though, Kerry's a great guy and I'm glad to see that he's getting better. I just tire of the completely static, blind faith with which he reveres this God which has robbed him of his ability to play (I can just feel the love pulsating from the heavens...). But I guess it's comforting for him to be able to say that even though he has been robbed of one of the most important aspects of his life, he still has his imaginary friend.

  • To each his own.

  • Kerry is truly a good man. I am so glad to see he is doing so well.

  • This great man has been in my life forever.

I am a musician today because of him... I owe him a ton..

All Respect My friend . ..... I pray for you everyday.

    Dave .

    Dave .

  • His faith is wonderful to behold.

  • He's recovered alot! And he'll continue to get better!

  • I am very very happy to see this.

  • WOW! Thank you SO MUCH for posting this! It's SO AMAZING to finally see Kerry back on his feet and talking again! What an incredible, inspirational, and irreplaceable guy! 5 stars!
