  • was curious to how the can opener works? it looks like a unique design.

  • @TyrantsAREhere Yeah its rather small, not as good as some others like Leatherman or Victorinox

  • Thanks for posting these videos. I picked this tool out and then ordered it after watching your demos. Got it in the mail today and I've been messing with it all evening! =) Cheers.

  • @L48Shark Thank you so much for the kind words my friend. Glad you picked up a Flik. hope you enjoy using it :-)

  • I think the reason part of the blades are unsharpened is so you can push them open from the base of the blade with your thumb without getting cut.

  • @L48Shark I think thats very true my friend, good observation, cheers

  • Hey Collin, thanks to making this video!!!I was to buy a multi tool like this nor knew most of the tools!

    Great videos!

  • @BCKazu Thanks buddy

  • how much did that cost yer mate?

  • @Bluetorchproductions I think about £35 mate

  • @ColinOutdoors where from, cheepest i can find is about £60 for the black oxide version

  • @Bluetorchproductions Gaynors, Ambleside, Lake District. I bought it from there in the shop

  • @ColinOutdoors i had a look, they dont sell them anymore. so my next best buy is on Ebay its around £40 odd including post and packaging but well worth it. Thanks =]

  • @Bluetorchproductions Cool, hope you manage to pick on up my friend, its s a great tool

  • I think the reason they haven´t let the edge go all the way to the bace of the tool, is probobly because they dont want to weaken the blades. There is a hole in the same area so, if it had been sharpen there. My geuss is that less metal means less strength and a bigger risk of breaking the blade. God review btw:o)

  • @Andersbork Thats a good suggestion, sounds like a goon explanation thanks my friend

  • Im looking for a multitool for everyday use, but something that could be used for suturing wounds in the bush. I want scisors that are tight and sharp for cutting suture material and clothing. How well did this keep an edge?

  • @jkejr Well I haven't use the scissors alot so they are still sharp, however I have used a Leatherman Micra for about 5 years and the scissors are still going strong

  • @jkejr try the leatherman juice cs4 it has some of the biggest multi tool scissors ever i know this comment is old

  • Nice review! Really helpful, you went into good detail, but maybe next time spend less time discussing the sheath for it, but otherwise an excellent review. You have convinced me to get this rather than a Leatherman Wave.

  • @VulcanMarine Thanks for the complitment, I really appreciate your feedback.

  • Great review, thank you for sharing, man.

  • @myactionhobbies Thanks for taking the time to view and comment

  • I've bought allot of Gerber products including there flashlights and Utility knife to the bigger knifes as well. Now, I don't go backpacking, but I've accumulated these tools and put them into a tackle box as well as other stuff and called it my survival kit. It's more of a camping survival kit, than it is a hiking survival kit. That being said, I personally stear clear of muti "any" tools. Even my work tools are individual .... eg. all my screwdrivers are individual and no mutli.

  • @SaviourMachine01 Yeah multi-tools are a compromise, its much better to have a normal tool for the job, but I think they are great to have and cool to collect.

  • Very good review. Enjoyed very much.

Thought on the unsharpened areas of the plain and the serrated blades. Possibly they are left like that to be used as a striking edge for a firesteel? Both blades have a small semi-circular cutout in the unsharpened area.

    Just a thought.

Personally, I'd rather have more sharpened edge, and just use the spine of the blade to strike a firesteel.

  • @Icepick51 Thank you, yeah you might be right about the unsharpened edge for striking on a fire steel, but I agree with you, it would be better sharpend.

  • Great review colin! damn that are some small tools :D cool looking multi-tool!

  • @BushcraftTom Lol yeah they are tiny tools lol, thanks Tom

  • That looks like a mighty good multi!!! In my opinion, it will look quite good when the coating starts to show signs of wear - matures it, you might say!

  • @equalandopposite Yeah I think it will look very cool l when the coating starts to wear off

  • gr8 review m8 5/5

  • @knifeguyeddy Thanks Ed

  • Love it.....how much in dollars Colin? *****

  • @bushcraftbartons Hi Mike, I paid £33 for it on clearance from an outdoor store which is about 50 CAN, Its was a lucky find it ususally retails for about double that price.

  • wow...those smaller tools really are small..

    5*...oh..sorry... "like"

  • @RDPproject Lol, yeah they are really small, i'm quite impressed how well they work, thanks Rob

  • is that a camping mat in the background? ;D

  • @beholderlt Yes it is, good spot

  • @ColinOutdoors the wrinkles gave it away :)

  • @beholderlt lol

  • I was never a fan of multi tools, until now that is. I always thought they were just mini and flimsy attempts at a real tool, and not half as strong, but I have to say this tool looks great, seems to be very strong, and has all the basic tools in one. Nice and compact too without any loss of quality. Thanks Colin. 5 stars.

  • @cjtf I have a swisstool, its actually hard as nails. Check it out. Pretty heavy though.

  • @DennisJorgensen78 Thanks for viewing, yeah I have a Swisstool, its a great tool, probably one of the best around.

  • @cjtf Yeah I am quite impressed with the quality of the Gerber, its a tough tool, thanks for your support Clive.
