  • philly shell baby! almost untouchable if done correctly

  • Mayweathers best move

  • How is this stuff for street fighting?

  • @rmsolympic1 let a knuckle head come to you and start throwing punches he will miss everyone, its hard to explain unless you've seen a skilled fighter go up against a street fighter who's just throwing random punches and haymakers trying to land a knock out blow and gasses out in like 20 seconds.

  • @rmsolympic1 It's really for experienced fighters. Can't just learn the shoulder-roll and go to a street fight using it as an advantage without training in a ring. A good example is Mayweather Jr. Perfected shoulder-roll. Every thrown punch at him hits and slides up his shoulders leading to minimal damage.

  • this helps me because im learning how to box soon

  • @chicaneon cool story

  • this teach this in a couple gyms here in philly and these guys look awkward

  • @jonashoward21 yea they do LOL i was thinking the same thing

  • cunts

  • The guy in the middle shouldve showed us how to do these those 2 knuckleheads on his sides look like their having a seizure standing up or something lol il knock those 2 dudes off the ring, dudes soft.

  • @MrChannel5news dude seriously they did look a little okward

  • @schassis lol i know right, like if the teacher is teaching them how to do it wrong and to also show us (youtubers) on video as an example....then the teacher is not teaching them the proper way or he just sucks aswell. Anyways....if i want to learn i have to learn from the best, and the best at the moment is floyd mayweather. ive watched his training videos and disected it piece by piece mixing it with my own practice and its alot more helpful. Goodluck to you.

  • I don't like the shoulder roll all that much. If you're not physically talented, it'll probably be hard to pull off. It basically is a tool to smother your opponents punches. But if the opponent is smart enough to take a step back, he'll catch you. Only time I would ever recommend doing the shoulder roll is if you're on the inside.

  • carlitoboxing boxing is not dead if u keep sayin that ull b dead

  • BOXING IS DEAD

  • that dude means business on the left

  • @nikkyg9021 Great job and this is more like Floy style yeap its cool fight smart like Floy

  • wanna learn the shoulder roll and counter punch? go watch james toney fights

  • @carlitoboxing So true!

  • Some people here are retarded. You can see shoulder rolls being used frequently by top professionals even in MMA or kickboxing.

  • @nikkyg9021 True. It's not always a smart idea to get hit over the guard. There's techniques where you purposely hit the guard to create an opening. Shoulder roll is one good way to avoid getting rushed and keeping your balance.

  • why did the guy below me, copy and past 3 times?

  • This is great defense Ive used it many times in the ring and its the best defense ive had fighting. Its really hard to get any good hits in if this defense is learned right.

  • This is great defense Ive used it many times in the ring and its the best defense ive had fighting.

  • this is great defense Ive used it many times in the ring and its the best defense ive had fighting.

  • wanna know how to do a real shoulde roll? go watch a floyd mayweather defensive video

  • these guy never got anywhere.... like me

  • these guys are idiots lol

  • @nikkyg9021 100% correct, respect from london, pro boxer

  • guy on the right does it almost perfect. only thing is that his leaves his temple wide open. he should bring his right hand to cover that.

  • I feel like giving the guy on the left a uppercut, try that "shoulder roll" now bitch!!

  • guy on right, put your hands up. You're not lucian bute

  • I think it should be re-titled to Shoulder Roll DEMONATRATION. Because, sorry there just is NOT a lot of INSTRUCTION going on. It would be nice to see how to properly use against the punches. Anyways, thanks for the demo. :-S

  • nice video... next time, can you teach how to accuse someone ?

  • @nikkyg9021 lol nice point lmfao

  • @nikkyg9021 Well, I guess its what you are most comfartable with that you should do.

You should not try to do something if youre not comfortable with it.

What works for you might not work for tha other guy etc...

  • Sounds like the guy who is speaking got hit too many times in the mouth area.

  • guy in the middle: well this is awkward

  • It looks like they are trying to mix the conventional right handed stance up with the shoulder roll stance, wrong angles wrong footwork. These guys would get beat the hell up. This looks more like what James McGirt used to do and he always took a beating.

  • @shkotay there isnt a "shoulder roll" stance, granted you have to do it in a certain way but there isnt a specific stance you need to be in. just like bobing and weaving. and i dont know about the footwork my grandpa and his helper Joe taught me different ways to use the roll (stay in place to counter or just move away and slip the punch) so the footwork isnt necessarily wrong here theyre just showing the basics of it.

  • @TheArkham13asylum Agreed to a certain degree but you hve to be able to parry or defelect with the shoulder in order to make it effective which means turned at a good angle, head down and away from the angle of attack otherwise you have an open avenue for the right hand straight to your head. But you are right, there is no SET way, but not facing forward for me was always a critical portion of making it work. Angles always are the key.

  • booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...

  • the guy on the right is like looking away and thats why he is gonna get caught with a hook

  • @thebelgian oh my bad that explains it hes a nba basketball champion even shaq cant box they doing the shoulder roll wrong watch some floyd or james toney vids

  • what is rolf??

  • that was alott of help

  • @davidsaso1234 the point im trying to make is there off balance and doing it all wrong watch how floyd shoulder rolls and watch his legs he dont twist his front leg all stupid like they do he maintains proper balance thats why hes never been knocked down. You need a strong base if not whatever your doing is going to fail. I know boxers dont defense against kicks but im pretty sure you couldnt knock down mike tyson with a leg kick these guys you can there horrible.

  • @beenz08 this is box... it's not design to take kicks...

  • teach them how to fuck

  • I dont understand - the shoulder roll is still going to get you hit

  • the guy on the right dunt evn no wot hes duin

  • l like that guy's sneakers :D

  • lol

  • i love how James Tony perfected this and came back with the right hand against so many opponents.

  • that retarded Allstate dude is taking too much time from my youtube videos

  • What's this? A dance? -.-

  • maybe it's just me, because i know crap about boxing, but it seems to me that the shoulder roll demonstrated on the right is close to turning your back to an opponent.

like i said, i'm by no means a connoisseur of boxing, but anytime i watch mayweather or judah fight, they're already practically standing sideways.. when they do their shoulder roll, it seems like they're basically just turning their backs...

i assume there should be a point where this move should be illegal???

  • @elnegrobembon I see what you're saying. I've seen the shoulder roll used in a more "self defense" type situation, although not as a *primary method of defense*. More of a "oh crap, I dropped my hands/was trapped" and there's a punch coming at my head" sort of moment. Even then, it isn't fantastic, but, you do what you gotta do in the moment.

To see someone use it fairly beautifully (in a boxing setting) check out Floyd Mayweather.

  • @ShinkaTV

    i see what you mean.

but actually, i've seen mayweather fights and i've seen him do this often...

he's actually the one that made me think this move should be illegal past a certain point.

i was watching the mayweather/hatton fight the other day, and hatton was even complaining that floyd was turning his back.

the way you describe it and the way it's demonstrated in the vid seems ok, but sometimes it seems the idea is that you can't get hit in the back... so just shoulder roll a lot

  • @elnegrobembon Oh, yes, I agree with you entirely on that front.

You see the same abuse of safety rules in the UFC where guys bury their head on the ground so they "can't" take a knee to the face, or put their hand on the ground so as not to get kicked. It's silly, but, like they say... hate the game not the player.

  • I could listen to this guy talk all day.

  • Movement is key. Mr. Smith said something genius, He said move the way that is better for you. Everyone has their own style, work with it.

  • That would be hard to do when some one leg kicks you off balance. Then you could throw whatever you can til they get back into position. Ver effective in boxing. How would a mayweather vs james toney(skinnier and younger one) play out? And is there any bag that i can get to practice this effectively?

  • @snwbrderboi03 hehe, nah, GSP'd mop the floor with Floyd. But, think about a knife or a looping hook/beer bottle coming at your head, in close range. Or, think of a moment where your hands have been trapped to your chest Wing Chun style, or you've simply fallen for a fake or dropped your hands. Those are some applicable times.

  • @ShinkaTV you hella dumb homie

  • @batmanufc18 hehe, I bow to your superior intellect "homie".

  • @nikkyg9021

Pretty much. Right on point with this notion and I wish more guys in MMA would practice, practice practice this until it's smoothly second nature.

  • guy talks like hes baked or drunk

  • look at those 2 mongunu....mumu.lol

  • i like the southpaws movement

  • during a fight i try and do this as much as possible to keep the oppenant guessing

  • shoulder roll is awesome sometime i use it but its kinda of hard to hit fast and my punches gets weak

  • Yeah, I can see how It'd be pretty annoying to try and deck someone who's doing moving around like the guy on the left...right looks a little easier and more predictable though.

  • @enricokorderos the one on the right takes more talent to pull off watch james toney or floyd mayweather fights to see it done right.

the one on the right is what allows you to counter with short punches up the middle.. once again see James Toney and Floyd Mayweather

  • Floyd Mayweather Jr.s BnB technique...

  • Pretty cool video...thanks!

  • these 2 ant gt a clu wot thay duin

  • It's not nonsense. It worked for James Toney and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Both very successful defensive boxers. But nikkyg9021, keeping your hands up does work, that's why ALL professional boxers do it. Ever see Roy Jones take hits ? yeah, that guy has his hands down, except when he's getting thundered. Then they're up. That's how you defend yourself.

This works, but as with anything, you need skill to implement it, otherwise you'll get hammered.

  • this is pure nonsense

  • rofl. the guy on the left

  • @TheAviator57 I BET HE' D KNOCK UR DUMB-ASS-OUT!

  • 2x "NBA" heavyweight champion???

  • hahaha wtf is an NBA player doing here

  • i bet all of yall talking down would get beat by these guys

  • Funny! very funny!!!!! Mga bugok!

  • thats it?

    you guys are retarded.

  • lol wtf? xD this is retarted

  • Wow, what nonsense.

Just a bunch of guys jittering, no explanation.
